Seems like tariffs or the threat of them from Trump work. At least that seems to be the case in South America. Europe? If Trump has a trade beef with a member of the EU, probably not. Russia? No. China. No. The amount of exported products from a target country that are sold to the US likely has a lot to do with a tariff's effectiveness in leveraging behaviors.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. We have a President again, instead of an empty shirt. Love him, hate him, disagree with him, agree with him. Whatever. He does what he has been saying he will do. And don't mess with him. Even Gavin Newsome figured out that you have to deal with him in a straightforward manner. Insulting him and calling him a "nazi" gets you nowhere. He feasts on that kind of commentary. He sees himself as a victim, who now has overcome all the roadblocks in front of him, and has been vindicated by the voters. As of right now, he's like a steamroller. I know Fox News links are an anathema around here, but I thought this was interesting.
Trump is reinstating all military service members who were kicked out of the military for refusing to take the Covid jab. They'll not only be reinstated, they'll get back pay and benefits. I doubt that all will return, but a significant number may do so. Lots were career people with a lot of knowledge, and loved serving their country.

Trump (and his supporters) declaring a massive victory where very little actually changed was typical in Term 1 and we're off to a good start in Term 2. It's all about PR. Colombia accepted deportee flights all though Biden's term. Collins told The Hill in an interview that she wants to press Gabbard on her stance on Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which allows for the warrantless surveillance of foreign targets.
Gabbard has sought to walk back her past criticism of the program, but Collins told The Hill she doesn’t necessarily believe Gabbard’s change of heart.
