  • It remains to be seen what Trump actions he's already taken will remain in effect after the courts review them but the progs are getting bowled over. Axing DEI at the federal level and leading the way in making hiring merit based is one of the best things that's happened in the US in the last century.
Certainly his birthright citizenship gambit won't last 2 minutes inside a courtroom. I'm sure there are others that are doomed to fail as well. However, the president controls the executive branch and by extension federal agencies under its control. He absolutely can order people back to the office and drop certain programs and practices from the federal bureaucracy. His DEI orders will be in place for at least the next 4 years unless congress acts on it (they won't have the numbers to). But it's still an important push back on racist hiring practices that is welcome and long overdue.

Yep. Much like military members who served in Afghanistan and had to watch one of the most embarrassing episodes in our nation's history unfold in August 2021 because the CINC had applesauce for brains. Then they got an encore performance when President Oatmeal released 9/11 terrorists from Gitmo in exchange for *** checks notes *** nothing.

Fortunately enough people "got over it" by kicking Shit-for-brains and his trusty sidekick into the dustbin of irrelevance.

            • The Ukraine question is in limbo given Trump's recent statements on that subject. He's clearly backed off on his campaign statements that he'd end the war in Ukraine in one day. Realpolitik has set in. To me, it seems Trump has realized for a while now that neither side is going to achieve it's war objectives and that realization is underlying his formulation of strategy to deal with Putin and Zelinski and the public statements he makes about the war.

Trump has a bit of an edge in dealing with what pundits think is the biggest obstacle to end the war - Putin. .........if Zelensky plays his cards right, Putin could face his own reckoning. Inflation in Russia is out of control, interest rates are artificially frozen at an already sky-high 21 percent, there’s a labor shortage and mass war casualties — “this is not sustainable as a society,”.........

Where Trump's US has an overwhelming capacity to keep supplying Ukraine with increasing numbers and sophistication of war fighting stuff, Putin's Russia is struggling on that front according to economists who watch this kind of thing. Trump could use a back-channel threat of supplying long range missiles and green lighting Ukraine to target key war material production facilities inside Russia. While Russia does have an advantage in numbers of soldiers it can put on the front, supplying them with the kit to carry out an effective ground war is Putin's Achilles Heel.

Sure, Putin, in response, could reignite nuclear saber rattling. Unlike Biden who bowed to Putin in this regard, Trump will call Putin's bluff. What certainly might happen in that regard is the threat of or the real entrance of combined NATO forces to the front lines in Ukraine. Unless Putin is a complete idiot, and he definatley is not, he does not want an all-out conflict with NATO and if he embarks on that course, he'll lose as his military power is at an all-time low having spent most of it in Ukraine folly.

The Trump presidency “might not be good — but it will be much better than under Biden,” a former Ukrainian cabinet minister says.

I'm not sure why on Earth you're doubting the Prog Twitter that DSL slavishly follows. I'm pretty sure they were blanket past and future pardons. #Narrative

Yes. But let’s be honest about the character of the violent and destructive ones who are getting a get out of jail card. Many among that group already had lengthy rap sheets. America didn’t send her best to break into the Capitol that day.

I think few people have major objections to pardoning the grandmas who wandered in through an open door.

Anyone who had Progs lose their damn mind less than 10 minutes after DJT gets sworn in please proceed to the cashier window to get paid.

                    • The guy who stabbed someone hasn't done his time for that yet, apparently. There's hundreds of others that were still being prosecuted that never served and will never serve a single day in jail.

I'll find a few more if you want and provide you with their names. I know y'all will want to help these fellow conservatives find work after release. Good salt of the earth people.

                        • I Googled the "murderer" guy and local authorities determined it was self defense against a 19 year old male and he was not charged with a crime. It sounds like he's genuinely a POS person otherwise. "Murdered a teenager", however, is false.

                          • I'm stepping out of my wheel house on this but the language of the J6 pardon's issued by Trump yesterday is pretty important.....

Note that not all the J6 crowd is getting pardons. Some received commutations and others received pardons. This small but important fact is being ignored by the angry crowd of progs for effect, never mind the facts.

A pardon and a commutation result in a reduction of punishment, but there is a distinction between the two. The difference between pardon and commutation is that a pardon relieves an individual of all guilt for the crime committed, while a commutation reduces the sentence without exonerating the person.

There are 14 people who received commutations but not pardons. They are the worst offenders who were convicted of seditious conspiracy - namely the Proud Boys morons. They will all remain convicted felons and have served a few years in federal prison.
