Compared to New Orleans I haven't seen much about what motivated the Cybertruck guy.
Some outlets are making a big deal out of the fact that both guys served at Fort Bragg at some point. But that's a little like thinking it's significant that both guys once lived in New York City because that means they probably knew each other.
EDIT: Just saw that Cybertruck guy was actually still active military and currently stationed in Germany. Was on leave in Colorado (presumably for the holidays).Last edited by Dr. Strangelove; January 2, 2025, 09:27 AM.

Well, he went out "with a bang" or in a "blaze of glory."
It's looking like these two incidents involved two guys with serious mental health issues. The on-line press and TV news has played this terrorist thing up to get clicks beyond that which is responsible. The supposed ISIS guy who drove his truck into NYE revelers on Bourbon St. is a classic example of someone who got hooked on the social media presence of ISIS, was ripe to buy into thier bull-shit and wanted to play the role of a lone wolf, terrorist in the name of Ala. He was no more connected with ISIS and being directed by them to carry out his operation than the man in the moon.
The guy that caught his Cyber Truck on fire then shot himself in the head while the fireworks and gas cans in the truck's bed pooped off was obviously a whack job. I've got no problem with local authorities and the FBI doing their jobs and investigating possibilities of organized terrorism at the direction of ISIS. But, FGS, spare the hysterical headlines and stories from irresponsible purveyors of the news.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

ISIS guy basically had an ugly divorce and he admitted in a video he posted that originally he wanted to lure his entire family to a party and then kill them all.
Cybertruck Guy maybe had marital problems too. As far as I've heard he left behind no explanation and seemed more spontaneous. Bought the gun he killed himself with just two days prior.
