No surprise rightwing media is rapidly losing interest in this story now that the terrorist's actual political views have been revealed. His Twitter account is still active and filled with anti-Islam content. He blamed Germans in particular for the "Islamization" of Europe.
**********************************
Saudi authorities warned their German counterparts about the suspected Magdeburg Christmas market attacker three times, a source with knowledge of the communications told CNN.
The first warning came in 2007 and was connected to concerns held by Saudi authorities that Taleb A. had expressed radical views of varying kinds.
Saudi Arabia considers him a fugitive and requested his extradition from Germany between 2007 and 2008, the source said, adding that German authorities refused, citing concerns for the man’s safety should he return.
Saudi authorities alleged that the man had harassed Saudis abroad who opposed his political views. They also noted that he had become a supporter of the far-right German party Alternative for Germany (AfD), and had developed radical anti-Islamic views, the source said.

Indeed, no surprise. The Magdeburg attack is a classic example of being soft on extremist groups and individuals, regardless of the particular bent of their extreme views, in the name of human rights. Ignoring reports by law enforcement and intelligence organizations of radical behaviors and failing to intervene by either apprehension of the suspected individual or infiltration of the suspected organization, almost always results in a catastrophic outcome.
In the last several decades, as violence has increasingly become the tool of radicals to call attention to their causes, with a concurrent significant increase in attacks, there is an identifiable pattern similar to that being identified in the Magdeburg attack of threats identified and either not connecting the dots (911 attacks) or if a legitimate threat is identified, a reluctance to act by law enforcement to protect public safety (school shootings). A lot of the inaction can be traced right back to politically progressive views that have seeped into governments and law enforcement of unbounded human rights.
Civilized society can not have it both ways. Governments and law enforcement agencies can not bow to demands from organizations like the ACLU and at the same time provide a modicum of public safety for the citizens they govern. Admittedly, there's a fine line between too little and just enough action in response to suspicious behaviors; too much and just enough surveillance; too much and not enough forceful intervention by law enforcement. Right now the pendulum in democratic nations has swung too far in the direction of over-protecting human rights and freedoms at the expense of protecting the public.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
