JFC Biden commuted the sentence of the kids-for-cash judge. He was getting kickbacks from a for-profit juvenile detention facility for every kid his sentenced to jail. Why HIM, Joe?
Because he's a piece of shit. I was wondering who some of the people were in that massive pardon/commutation yesterday but never could find any specifics.
I'm anti-Luddite in general. And bad ports cause higher prices on workers everywhere, for the exclusive benefit of very privileged, extremely well-paid mob goons.
Incidentally, automation has killed more blue-collar/working class jobs over the past 200 years than foreign trade ever has. It used to take an entire team of men to drive a train. Now one engineer can plausibly do it. Switching from steam to diesel eliminated the need for half of them. Developing power brakes eliminated most of the rest.
Well I guess I've got to hope that Trump really has no intention of listening to these people

But his close ties with Siri are raising concerns about the incoming Trump administration’s intentions, given the lawyer’s intimate involvement in the anti-vaccine movement.
Siri works closely with the Informed Consent Action Network (Ican), a “medical freedom” non-profit founded by Del Bigtree, whose has long waged war on vaccines including as producer of the anti-vaccination documentary, Vaxxed. The New York Times report noted that Siri filed the 2022 petition calling for the FDA to revoke approval for the polio vaccine on behalf of ICAN.
Here's more people that got pardoned by Biden. Some truly corrupt folks in this group. But because they were non-violent and already serving the remainder of their sentence on home arrest, they all got swept up together. Really should've put more time and effort into seeing specifically who you'd be freeing. Why's somebody who committed over $1B in Medicare fraud deserve clemency?
Another awful example. I remember hearing an podcast episode about this woman who stole a massive amount of money from a small town over decades all so she could live out her fantasy of running a horse farm.
