It has occurred to me that the Democrats might have won the election if they had created fake Right Wing sock puppet accounts to then attack Trump with legitimate criticisms of him from the Right. Or just general non-partisan stuff, like "Why did this guy pardon Kwame Kilpatrick and a bunch of other apolitical cheats instead of the people that got sent to Gitmo on his behalf?" Real questions that would have de-energized his base. Questions that people like me pondered and came to the conclusion that it's time to move on. The Dems should have made a bigger deal out of Trump's pardons BTW. So maybe the 2024 loss is the price that they paid for focusing on a bullshit narrative that ultimately had no traction with the country instead of one that is not only accurate but also addresses behavior that literally nobody can defend.

Reality check on “Eliminate the DOE” talk. You won’t save significant money without eliminating popular programs like Pell Grants.

Whether these programs are all that popular can be debated. What cannot be debated is that if Trump does away with the DOE, most of the spending will "go back to the states". That will be a problem because it means that CA and NY will be allowed to continue to teach CRT and the other woke nonsense that infests curricula in those states. Better to keep the DOE and tie funds to actual changes in what is taught.

Breaking up the teachers' unions should be a goal of the DOE.
