        • I'd reckon that the alphabet people, disquieted about the election results and the likelihood the gay and lesbian community is going to be set back in their efforts to advance acceptance of them as "normal," will start claiming a trend of leaving the US to live in Europe is evolving. Like sheeple do, many in that community will pack-up and bolt for countries where the people and governments are more tolerant of that sort of thing. Of course 90% of them will have absolutely no clue regarding how difficult it is to obtaining a permanent residency, get jobs, pay the bills. When they run out of money, they'll be back and much worse off on multiple levels.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Ellen DeGeneres and her girl pal have sailed off to England to "weather out the storm" of a second Trump presidency. I guess they figure that there is no bigotry or hatred there. Fact is, bigotry and hatred is a disease of mankind, not just of "trumpers". And they'll find even in jolly old England that the average Brit doesn't give a rats behind how, or with whom you choose to have sex with. And they don't believe that you suddenly gain special rights and considerations for those choices. They choose to call that bigotry. They are wrong, of course.

People of her ilk have the means to leave America, and constantly have stated their desire to leave, because of how we vote. I wish they'd just shut up and do it. Be a person of your word.

                • Trump got his noncontroversial picks out of the way at the start . Now he's just tossing out names in a friday night news dump that'll get one side or the other fuming.

His Labor Secretary pick was a co-sponsor of the PRO Act that would basically kill right to work laws. Seeing a bunch of outrage on the right. AND he's taking another R out of Congress.

His Treasury pick is an openly gay friend of George Soros lol that Elon previously called "too business as usual".

His choice for Surgeon General pushed the covid vaxx so the usual nutters are outraged over that

And he's naming Sebastian Gorka Director of Counter-terrorism, lol. Highly qualified.

                    • Here's an election that got little national attention.

Kentucky defeated a constitutional amendment that would've allowed public funding for school vouchers to private and religious schools. It was a crushing defeat with 65% voting no and the voucher idea lost in every single county across the state.

You would think that in a conservative state this should do well so what happened? It seems like this ended up pitting rural conservatives against wealthier suburban conservatives. Kentucky's a very rural state and the nearest private school for a lot of families is something like an hour away. The amendment was portrayed as a tax break for rich families that already had kids in private schools. It did nothing for the rural parts of the state except siphoning off money that otherwise would've gone to their local public schools.

                      • And it probably had something to do with the fact that the Christian community in Kentucky is overwhelmingly protestant, and at that, very conservative protestant. Those folks realized that the vouchers that were going to be taxpayer funded were also going to go to students attending Catholic schools. The protestant preachers were likely telling their congregations to not vote for a bill that would in effect, fund Catholic schools, and by course, support the Catholic church.

It would be a mistake for the minority progressive elements in Kentucky to interpret the vote was a overwhelming victory for public schools.

More evidence of Trump's fear of strong women in important government positions.
