  • I'm willing to wait and see. If inflation gets worse, his party will be thrown out on their asses in 2026. That is, of course, IF WE'RE STILL ALLOWED TO VOTE.

    • Just keep saying nice things about Trump...you can avoid having your home raided...avoid frivolous indictments...and avoid being shot at...because we all know that is what Trump wants to do...

      ....oh wait...no that's a different party...

Anyway Mike...we'll see you in the interment camp buddy!

      • The big loser in this election is the lunatic fringe of the D party...which has controlled the DNC since 2021...as well as the legacy media...America has resoundly rejected the lunacy so now it's up to the Dems to see if they accept the reality....or continue to blame deplorable garbage....

It all depends on how much he lives up to his campaign promises. The massive tax regime he's been threatening will raise prices, I don't see how it possibly couldn't.

Never underestimate the cluelessness of people. I think many people hear about the tariffs and think the US collects those directly from foreign governments. Hell even Trump may think that.

            • Reading the D responses to Heels Up's loss...is pretty much rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic...the D party needs a major overhaul and major shift to the middle...we'll see if that happens. Getting rid of Pelosi and Schumer would be a good start...

lol, this Kool-Aid drinker thinks Trump's going to double America's energy output or something when we're already at an alltime high.

                • If gasoline prices go down dramatically in the next two years it's more likely to be because of a global recession brought on by trade wars. Not because we will have drilled twice as many new oil wells and put them all into production within months. There's no incentive for E&P companies (the drillers) to go out and crash the price of oil.

Yep...Biden's failed energy policies had nothing to do with high energy prices...just a coincedence. It's Putin's fault!!!! It's Hitler's fault!!

                              • There's lots and lots of post-mortems you could take, and it's hard to get past Occam's Razor -- The Chairman's policies were unpopular -- whether they deserved to be or not, he was incapable of selling them. There was absolute A to B line on immigration and inflation was a real problem for him that he managed to make worse.

HOWEVER, I also think the Ds have let themselves drift way prog-ward because they essentially have no reason for self-examination. Their entire party position is, more or less, anti-DJT. The Chairman definitely squeezed in some sops for the Progs (student debt + the Inflation "Reducation" Mini-Green New Deal). But, fundamentally, they thought they could get away with almost anything because DJT was terrible and then Dobbs. But, as it turned out, the latter didn't carry the day when everyone showed up to vote.

So, I think the Ds have to figure out what they do with their WokeProgs. I think they probably need to follow the EconProgs a little more and will -- yuck. But, at least it's offering a competing vision -- like a real vision of something -- something I disagree with, but whatever. The WokeProg stuff is.....heh....toxic. The overt alienation of men is not particularly good for business. It's one thing to stand up for choice, it's another to adopt a "this is women's party" type of mantra. Despite the ludicrous tales to the contrary, the Rs want women to vote for them and aren't hostile to them -- other than generally being Pro-Life.

I dunno...it's one election. Shit like this happens. If it happens again in 2026 and then in 2028 then the Ds really have a problem. But, for now they probably don't actually need to do much soul-searching -- the cyclical nature of American politics will see them back in power again -- and, as per usual -- temporarily so.
