I supported Biden in the primary because he represented the "moderate/centrist" wing of the party. Then it quickly became obvious that there is no moderate/centrist wing of the D party. Yeah, I mean....I'm anti-Trump....I'm just way more anti-progressive left. And hey, the feeling is obviously mutual because they openly and actively dislike me because of my identity.

        • This election really blows up the notion that Republicans should give up pursuing Hispanics, huh? Or that Hispanics don't "assimilate".

We are heading towards a future where people will vote their ethnicity. Elections will be demographic head counts before long if the status quo continues. Trump had four years to fix it the first time and he did jack shit, for the most part, so I'm not exactly hopeful for Chapter 2.

Eh. Not really, He still got less than 50% of that vote. The way that the parties are structured now it will never benefit the Rs to bring more Hispanics into the country. I think that 45% might be a record -- at least since Reagan.

                • lol they go nearly 50% for Trump (Hispanic MEN may have actually been slightly pro-Trump) and you still talk about them as if they're an alien race who don't belong here, don't value the right things, and are actively making America a worse place.

What's it gonna take for you to accept them as American as you are? 80%?

                  • 2020 election had a shitload of mailin and there were plenty of households where 5-10 mailins were sent back probably filled in by one person.--Probably happened on both sides if you want to know the truth. Then you got a lot of mailins from people who will never ever take the 30 minutes it takes to vote in person.

It is really good seeing an election that wont be tied up in courts

but the dems were the masters of 2020 hence the late results counting all the mailins taking days to do--today only maricopa and nevada still drag on

Now because of the Democratic master skills in 2020, the lawfare, the house raids, the inept protection provided him --you made trump mad and he came back--could have let kamala disappear after the elections of 2020 along with Joe if trump would have won that year and serve 2020-2024

Instead The Dems outsmarted themselves and set up Trump for the next 4 years--Thank You!

I don't know the answer to your last question but there is no evidence that Hispanic migration will ever be a net positive for Republican electoral chances. Hispanic attitudes on a variety of issues favor Democats.

TBH I have no idea why Hispanic men shifted so strongly for Trump. That might not be a vote that's in their best interests.

                          • This one was coming. Trump made it perfectly clear during his campaign that during his presidency he wanted more control over interest rates. Both Powell and his predecessor, Janet Yellen were very strong opponents of the polarization of the Federal Reserve. Powell has been respectful of the presidency and it's role in Fiscal Policy but has steadfastly articulated a presidential hands off monetary policy that originates with and is controlled by the Fed.

Trump can't EO control of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy because it is (indirectly) constitutionally protected turf of the Fed. So is the Chairman's job. See legal arguments below:
