Things are escalating in the ME despite reports that diplomats continue to stress de-escalation. The US is adding a 2nd aircraft carrier and it's supporting ships to one that's been operating there for several months along with an amphibious capable CVA carrying 4500 Marines, helos and fixed wing aircraft. There's also a new deployment of Air Force F22s that will operate from ground bases in countries friendly with the US. There will undoubtedly be force structure support from the UK and France in the coming days.
It's a definite show of force despite explanations from defense department officials that they are working to calibrate the US response to a likely attack on Israel from Iran and it's proxy militias so as not to escalate tensions. The best way to restrain the Axis of Resistance is to demonstrate that attacks on Israel will result in painful consequences. The Biden administration has been weak on deterrence in the past so, this is a real shift in the use of power projection - about time.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished.
