Probably ride or die with Harris. It’s a low chance option but the Chairman is more or less zero chance barring God intervenes and strikes down Mr. Trump with a stroke.
I think Shapiro will be a great candidate one day but it’s still kinda early for him and I wouldn’t waste him for what’s probably a futile candidacy

Largest D Super PAC supporting Biden has frozen $90m in campaign pledges as long as Biden stays on the ticket.
If Joe drops out, Harris is the presumptive D presidential nominee ........ DJT will bury her. At this point HRC may be the best replacement for Biden. That's a hard sell which leaves me to conclude might as well ride Joe and nominate him for a 2nd term.
TBH, there is nothing good that will come out of the presidential election in November no matter who is on the R or D ticket.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

So if I have this right, these are the potential scenarios based on whatever Joe decides to do.
1. Resign as President. This is the most radical option, because Giggles immediately becomes President, and likely becomes the odds-on favorite for the D nomination. I mean, how does the Dem party go with someone else, when she's already occupying the Oval Office? This is not likely what the Clintons and Obamas want, because only the VP spot gets filled at the Dem convention.
2. Stay on as President until the end of his term, but release his delegates to the Convention. I think this is likely what the Clintons and Obama's want. They can work behind the scenes with their big money supporters to get their candidate(s) on the ticket. This also would likely block out Giggles from the nomination, unless she can find a way to appease the Clinton and Obama factions, and convince them that she is the best candidate, and can handle Trump. I don't think she can do that, but I guess we'll see.
3. Dig his heels in, stay on as President, and keep the nomination by refusing to release his delegates at the Convention. I think day by day, this becomes the less likely option. I wouldn't be surprised to see a "Goldwater" meeting sometime within the next couple of weeks, in an effort to get Joe to surrender at least the nomination in a way where he looks like a hero of sorts, not wanting to surrender, but willing to do so "for the good of the nation", and to protect against a Trump presidency.
But, you never know. Joe has wanted the Presidency all his life, and he may be cognitive enough to know that he doesn't want to surrender the Oval Office until he absolutely has to. If Joe is at the top of the Dem ticket come November, then Donald Trump will be sworn in come January. Look out, if that happens. The Dems are right when they claim that Trump intends to get even with his political enemies. He will do exactly that.Last edited by lineygoblue; July 12, 2024, 01:14 PM."in order to lead America you must love America"

Your collective heads will explode when Michelle Obama comes off the bench in the 9th, wins in a landslide and saves the country.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

I think that he's going to get pushed out. I have never gotten the impression that he wanted desperately to be President anyways. It always looked to me like he got drafted in 2020 because the Dems desperately needed to get rid of Trump. I dunno. I never met the guy. But you can tell that a memo went out because everyone who ignored Biden's dementia for the past four years is suddenly saying that Biden needs to step aside. It looks like a bullshit show to me.
