Some here have been calling for the EU to carry the load in supporting Ukraine in it's war against Russian aggression. "It's their problem not ours." Well, it is our problem and I've made the case for that. Not going through it again. Look at this chart from the Economist:
A Ukraine.jpg
So, yes, there it is. The general consensus among EU politicians/governments is that they seek to punish Vladimir Putin but not humiliate him. Although the EU's collective policy goals re supporting Ukraine are not in the public domain, there are enough clues to establish that allowing Putin to claim any kind of victory in Ukraine creates more problems than it solves. I'd be among those seeing it the same way.
There are varying evaluations of who has the best possibility of achieving it's goals between Russia and Ukraine. Evidence is mounting that it is the Zelenski government. There are plenty of clues that Russian forces are struggling to defend the territory they claim is under their control and part of the Russian Federation. The extent of partisan and secret squirrel operations (including assassinations') directed at command personnel, logistics infrastructure inside occupied Ukrainian territory and inside Russia itself is extensive and effective. Sanctions are working against Russia's long term economic security. They are also making it difficult for Russia to build and replace technologically advanced weapons. A recent Russian irregular army group operating in Ukraine made public a list of deficiency's that army's - both regular and irregular - are dealing with on the front: lack of precision weapons, artillery ammunition, counter battery fires capability and collapsing moral. Russians tend to buy and use their own communications equipment, most of it not secure and incompatibility between units of comm gear is a problem. These things tend to produce long term costs and failure to correct them exacts a huge cost of it's own on readiness.
IMO, it's not time for the US to put supporting Ukraine on the back burner. I do feel that Europe has a larger stake in a good outcome for Ukraine and should be carrying the load with the US in a support role as a NATO member. Specifically, the US needs to upgrade its defense industrial base (DIB) in preparation for a long war in years not days or months. The combined efforts of the US and EU in producing war fighting materials exceeds that of the Russian Federation.by a large amount. Regardless of the two sides (East and West, Axis and Allies) in courting the global south and other countries (Russia for China NK and Iran) the war is going to be won or lost on the capability of the collective DIBs to continue to provide war fighting materials to the Ukrainians.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

But he is on your side (R) so it is perfectly fine.
Pay fucking attention you goddamn moron. Know what I say and don’t say. It ain’t hard. I don’t hide or run from my feelings about DJT.
I don’t have a problem saying DJT is lying garbage. Nor do I have problem saying The Chairmen Iying garbage.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

How is it the party for "intelligent people" (aka the Republican party) was so easily infiltrated and commandeered by Donald J. Trump? A philandering game show host and reality tv star?
It's possible that individualism as a philosophy attracts assholes, narcissists, selfish dickheads, & greedy shits. Morons on the whole. Pathetic drooling creatures who'd slit each others throats in a heartbeat if there's a nickel to fight over. Which results in zero ability to act collectively. How sad for Talent and his crew of pirates. Less sad for me or his wife (the responsible member of the family).
Rare drinking night on a Monday if you can't tell.

Yeah, check out my post immediately preceding this. Defending The Chairman as being less of piece of shit than DJT is at least owning that The Chairman is a piece of shit. It’s not hard. And it’s at least defensible.
In the actual, live, breathing country there is vastly more denial among DJT voters than Biden voters when it comes to your candidate's shortcomings. What Democrats are enthusiastically voting for Biden? Compare that to the legions who enthusiastically are in the cult of Trump? I think it's obvious which party has a much bigger problem and that's certainly more important than winning 25 year old grudge matches between middle-aged and elderly losers.
