Yeah...let's give 3 squares a day...a free gym...a free spa...laundry facilities...a cell phone...and a free bus ticket to people here illegally. And at the same time we can flip the bird to American citizens...
Some Waffle House is crap. Burgers, steaks, and assorted fare is not great. The pies are what you can buy from the freezer case at your grocery. The eggs are usually over cooked. The bacon is usually undercooked.
The hashbrowns, however, are very good. The waffles are decent. The rest is just varying levels of meh, but they are open 24/7 and through hurricanes.
Speaking of stuff that's on par with what you get at your local grocery...
Nice to see The Big Guy back on vacation in Tahoe...that 4 hour visit to Maui must have been exhausting...I suppose lying about house fires can take a lot out of a man...
"Drebin.jpgMaui..., I promise you; whatever caused this, not one man in this administration will rest one minute before until you are all taken care of...now let's get back to Tahoe"

I don’t know about the grocery (perhaps, I am not a waffle guy, so it’s not something I buy at a grocery or elsewhere), but what they remind me of is the waffles you make on the free breakfast buffet at a Hampton Inn or whatever. Even though I don’t really care for waffles, at the freebie hotel breakfast bars, sometimes that’s the best option (and they’re usually decent) unless you like the other option: powdered eggs and lukewarm turkey sausage.
The correct answer at Waffle House is always smothered and covered hashbrowns, coffee, and a side of bacon. The bacon is a bit on the undercooked side, but I’m usually okay with it, or if it’s too bad, I’ll ask them to throw it in the microwave.
