Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, slammed the FBI for refusing to answer questions regarding their possession of evidence relating to an alleged multi-million dollar bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden.

Fox News Digital recently learned that in 2020, the FBI was reportedly informed that then-Vice President Biden was allegedly paid $5 million by an executive of the Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, where his son Hunter Biden sat on the board.

During the Senate Judiciary hearing Tuesday, Cruz pressed FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate on whether the bureau is currently in possession of the report on the Biden family bribery allegations, if they investigated the allegations, and whether they would provide the Senate with the requested recordings and documents to verify their credibility, but Abbate refused to comment.

"I'm just not gonna comment on information we've received, investigations…this is an area I'm not going to get into," Abbate told Cruz when asked about the bribery allegation.

Cruz slammed the director for avoiding the question, accusing the FBI of "stonewalling and covering up serious allegations of evidence of corruption from the president."

The FBI is reportedly in possession of a FD-1023 form - the FBI's interview with a "highly credible" confidential source on the alleged meetings with a top Burisma executive - according to sources familiar with the document. There are also reportedly 17 voice recordings between the Burisma informant and Joe and Hunter Biden.

When asked if the FBI would be willing to provide the Senate committee with the FD-1023, as well as 17 voice recordings, Abbate again said he would not be commenting.

"This is why you are damaging the institution," Cruz said. "The American people have a right to know whether there is serious credible evidence the president of the United States took a $5 million bribery."

"The Democrats don't want a hearing on these allegations. And to be clear, if the allegations are false, do you wanna know who can disprove them, Joe Biden," Cruz said Tuesday.

Stone-walling the release of what? The FBI doesn't have any tapes. No one knows they even exist. All anyone knows is that in 2020 (with Bill Barr running DOJ) some informant told the FBI that 5 years prior he met someone who claimed to have secret recordings. That's it.

The information about the recordings was contained in the same 1023 that had the information about the $ 5 million Joe took from Barisma. That is one reason the FBI and DOJ were stonewalling the release of this unclassified 1023. When the unclassified 1023 was released to the congressional committee, the references to the 17 tapes were redacted. Why?

We have seen this movie over and over again. 1) Deny it exists. 2.) When it is proven to exist, then claim we can't find it. 3) When it is found, refuse to supply it to the proper authorities on the basis of an ongoing investigation. DSL, you are merely on step 1.

They revealed the claim of the existence of the tapes to the chair and ranking member. Who bloody cares? That’s all it is. A claim passed along three years ago to Bill Barr while Rudy Giuliani was drinking and whoring his way across Ukraine looking for dirt. A claim about conversations dating back five years prior to that.
