I figure take the fight to Trump because it’s an inevitability. Use the moment to highlight all the losing Trump and his candidates have done since 2016. IMO, that’s the winning argument against Trump. Trump’s personal issues are baked into the cake and highlighting them won’t move the needle for or against him. But making an argument about winning elections and keeping the progs out of power should resonate with primary voters.
Nah, that is not a winning argument. DeSantis decided to play the insider game but has been very bad at it. Trump has 9 GOP Florida Congressional endorsements. DeSantis has 1 GOP Florida congressional endorsement.

Now, I think DeSantis can attack Trump on the criminal Justice reform (ie Trump is soft on crime) AND on border (he didn't get his wall built/ I ship off the illeagals)). But I don't think the GOP base actually cares about the issues. They are all about their feelings. Triggering the libs etc.

For DeSantis to have an actual chance, it has to be just him and Trump. The Trump voter is not going anywhere, but with Haley, Victor R., Pence etal. in the race that is going to to drain 1-5% from DeSantis (because Trump voters are not going anywhere but to Trump). But it looks like MORE people are going to get in and that is just going to splinter the establishment vote.

I just don't see how Trump supporters are going to sit around idly and concede 4 more years to Clueless Joe and Giggles or any Prog Socialist that the Ds come up with to take their places. Afterall, elections aren't about finding a perfect candidate - they're about finding the least offensive one (see 2016).

        • Don't look now, but Trump's numbers in a matchup with The Chairman are improving.

This reminds me of when Sen. Barry Goldwater,. House Minority Leader John Rhodes, and U.S. Senate Minority Leader Hugh Scott, came to the White House to tell Nixon he must resign, because they couldn't prevent him from being impeached and removed from office.

Which Democrats will take the example of those statesmen and do the same with The Chairman?

          • The Chairman’s WaPo poll numbers are just brutal. If those were for DJT we would have heard about instantaneously from DSL.

63% think he’s not mentally up for the job. There’s no way to fix that because the only fix is for him to talk and, well, that will only drive to 63 higher.

            • Idaho makes travel to another state (by a minor) for an abortion a crime. This includes rape or incest. The workaround for interstate travel is pretty funny.

To sidestep violating a constitutional right to travel between states, Idaho’s law makes illegal only the in-state segment of a trip to an out-of-state abortion provider.

This type of horseshit will end up hurting Republicans in the election. Look for some states (Roll Tide) to use this Interstate Travel workaround for any abortion.

We are witnessing the worst POTUS in history...and the R's still will lose in 2024. That's how fucking sad the RNC is now.

Yeah, he’s definitely in the conversation. We will likely have a choice in 2024 between arguably the worst presidents ever. This is roughly akin to the Kansas-KSU game from the late 80s where neither had a D1 win and they battled to a shitfest tie of disgrace.

                              • Trump was horrible, Biden is horrible; however, as bad as Biden is Kamala will be worse. I do not believe PJB will make it through a second term with the evident decline he is displaying now.
