Busch Lite very popular in Appalachia. Moreso than Bud Light in my experience (before all this). PBR became a hipster drink for a while about 10+ years ago.

Bud Light only when I'm a guest and there's literally nothing else. We have a big Budweiser plant in Columbus so it's served everywhere. I wonder if restaurant sales are hurting as much as retail/cans? Someone can correct me but I thought profits were much bigger at bars/restaurants.

If Bud Light has been your favorite beer for decades, to the extent that you will only go to bars and restaurants that carry it, and then you quit it because they ran a hard-to-find ad featuring a weirdo, you are absolutely a profound, contemptible loser. You deserve ridicule everywhere you go. In church, at work, at the park. Children should mock you and throw pine cones at you. Move to an island of lepers, son, civilization can afford to lose you.
The consequence of the ad exec saying what she said will get more people to drink Miller Lite and Miller Lite just tastes better. If I’m guzzling a mass produced American-style light beer with wings or delicious haggis (or whatever) it’s Miller Lite 1st, meh Coors Light 2nd. Bud Light and Ultra have an off taste to me, so if I can’t get my first two choices I usually avoid and will go with something that’s not technically light but is just as guzzable (Pacifico, Yuengling, PBR, whatever).

The best sipping beer that you can easily find is Left Hand Milk Stout. The best high gravity sipping beer you can (fairly) easily find is Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter. You either agree with that or you’re wrong, asshole.

I will brook no further discussion on this matter. Dismissed.

No see I DO care about the future of society which is why people like YOU need to be eternally frustrated and kept from any real power.

Agree with all that. Bud Light and Ultra just horrific. Honestly, Busch Light is better and usually cheaper. Coors Banquet is probably my favorite of the big macro beers but I never see it on tap here in the east so Miller Light is usually the choice when out at a chain restaurant. Among Mexican cheap beer I will go Modelo #1, Pacifico #2

I assume when you say Modelo, that you’re talking “Especial” - which I will drink, but I REALLY like Negra Modelo. It’s not a light lager, but I like the taste a lot. It’s my go-to at the Mexican dive I buy my fajitas at.

Yeah, meant Especial. Negra Modelo I only see at Mexican restaurants. Especial is a lot more commonplace. Also, on two recent trips to Southern California I've had Especial out there and I don't know if it's brewed there or what but def tastes better than when I buy it in Ohio.

                  • As far as macros, I can't stand Miller Lite. Can smell that shit from 15 feet away. I've even turned down free Miller Lite.

                    • Talent famously spilled an entire Coors Banquet at the Tennessee tailgate. I don’t think Volmillion ever forgave him.

Negro Modelo is a Vienna Lager, the same as Dos XX Amber. There are some solid Vienna Lagers that come from south of the border. I think the Nazis brought their beers to South America after WWII? Could just be a myth, though.

I think that Corona Premier is starting to make some inroads in the low cal/low carb beer market. Starting to see it on tap more often. I have not tried it, but those that I talk to that drink it seem to think it's pretty good.

BTW, Miller Lite actually tastes a bit like beer, the rest of the light beers aren't worth a shit. (acually Natty Light is drinkable)
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Wow. Never heard anyone say that before I assume you drink other light American lagers. Did you get sick drinking it or something?

                            • Yellow jacket stubbies and PBR. Those are my supplemental "American lagers" to accompany micros.

There's an excellent sours brewery in Columbus that I recommend. Tap room hours are spotty, but it's free ski ball and air hockey to go along with some very good and varied sours. Good summer drinking.

Yeah. Negra is my go-to at Mexican places. I’ve never been a Dos XX or Corona guy. Haven’t had one in years. Will always opt for a Pacifico or a Victoria if Negra isn’t available.
