  • She should resign. She’s too old to effectively discharge her duties.

    • I think she wants to die in office. More likely to get the Rotunda lying in state viewing.

Correct. It requires 60 votes to change the rules to allow Feinstein to be temporarily replaced on the Committee and not one Republican has said they'd do it. But if she resigns, they will probably accede to naming a new member. If she's going to be out months still she needs to fucking resign. But it could be another Edith Wilson situation and her COS is really running the show.

Heh, I think someone here mentioned that before? Not me. Or maybe I just read it elsewhere. But yeah, Senators who die in office get a big hoopla whereas you get diddly poo otherwise. Great incentive. JFC

Trump's a terrible manager who knows jack shit about any topic but thinks he's a foremost expert. He's a living breathing example of the Dunning-Kruger effect. He hires ass-kissers, not competent people. Just ask him and he'll tell you how virtually everyone he hired from his first administration was incompetent and stupid and he's not responsible for anything any of them did.
To be honest it may be in the country's best interest not to have Trump as President. The left threatened violence and riots and upheaval the first time around and made good on it as well, and no question will do the same again. Basically, blackmailing the country with unrest.

            • I think the big problem is it's a 52-48 senate and she is on that judicial committee. There have been other Senators who stayed way too long and it was not really talked about. Stabenow is defending a friend even if it is a miguided defense.

              • Also a part of it is the staffers are out of a job if she were to resign so the chatter is they are fighting it. Who knows? It sounds plausible.

48-49-3 if you want to be technical about it.

That is just not true Hanni. The tax cut of 2017 alone would have been enough because it unleashed the US economy.

President Joe Biden took question after question from school age children at the White House during 'take your child to work day' – where on at least one occasion he had to rely on a kid for help recalling the answer.

The White House set up the event on the South Lawn, and allowed children of some administration employees to ask the president questions.

Biden fielded inquiries on topics ranging from his favorite color to his favorite ice scream, but had to second-guess himself when trying to reel off where all six of his grandchildren live.

What should have been a softball was a question about what country Biden last visited tripped up Biden for a while, as he mentioned instead how many leaders he has met as president.

Finally after a pause a kid yelled out 'Ireland!' – Biden's ancestral homeland that he visited earlier this month.

'You're right, Ireland,' Biden responded. 'That's where it was.'

Crowder makes over $5M annually for just his Rumble channel. He recently had a huge public spat with Ben Shapiro and most of the people at the Daily Wire cuz he thought they were lowballing him trying to sign him. When he announced his divorce for the first time this Tuesday he bitched about the fact that a woman can get a divorce without her husband's permission more than once.

                              • Look, I get some of the reasons why people oppose US involvement in Ukraine...... the billions being spent to support the Zelenski government in Ukraine is arguably an appropriate basis for opposing that spending; but, the most incorrect one is that the US has no significant national or strategic interests in the outcome of the war between Russia and Ukraine. That is a stunningly uninformed take. If, in fact the US does have such interests, then the position that Americans are being asked to spend anything is rendered moot.

Since the disintegration of the Soviet Union in December 1991, Ukraine has remained as a critical buffer to prevent the expansion of fascism, either by military force or political subversion into western Europe. No strategic interests for America? Well, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's charter that was formed after the end of WWII in response to concerns about Russian expansionism under Joseph Stalin would take issue with that position. At the time of its formation, NATO countries were not capable of defending themselves without US support. Aside from practical questions regarding NATO members contributing sufficient resources to equal that of the US, the need for American membership in NATO remains the same as it was in 1948.

The US needs to cancel its NATO membership, as Trump proposed, then? It could but the likelihood of Putin leading Russian expansion into former Soviet Satellite states in eastern Europe and threatening the existing NATO member states in Western Europe is close to a 100%. Don't believe it? In the last 10 years of Putin's 11 year presidency, He has invaded Chechnya, Georgia and now Ukraine all in the interests of protecting the Russian diaspora in those countries. In the pursuit of his revanchist view of Russia, Putin has committed war crimes and is directing ethnic cleansing in all of the Ukrainian Oblasts he annexed in October 2022. His military aggression is unparalleled in its brutality. Such territorial expansionism by one European country into others hasn't been seen since the 1930s. It has been a huge strategic blunder on the part of NATO and the west to not stop that aggression in it's tracks when it started. His political subversion backed up by un-uniformed Russian soldiers started in Eastern Ukraine in 2008 and 9 and the seizure of Crimea in 2014.

Sorry, stopping Putin now is better than later and is unequivocally in US interests. The cost of freedom is always high said JFK and he added that Americans have always paid it.
