Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season

Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

  • Iraq is a stain on an otherwise sterling career for Hitch. Nobody's perfect and he'd have been the first to say it. What I most admire about Hitchens is how he not only went into the lion's den to fight on enemy turf, he relished it and thrived.

    • Don't get me wrong. I liked Hitchens. I don't share his (or Dawkins) zeal for enlightening or debating the general public on such things, though.

      • Fair enough, Mike. That nails it.

Dawkins I think is condescending about it in a way that Hitchens wasn't.

        • Dawkins seeks out a fight where there isn't one. Hitchens would wait until someone picks a fight with him, then gut them like a fish.

                • Okay. Now to serious talk. This is horseshit.

Which one of these hotels would you say is the tallest in the US:

                  Hotel A:
                  218m to the roof
229m if you include the antenna
                  639 rooms/68 floors

                  Hotel B:
                  220m to the roof
269m if you include the antenna
                  1068 rooms/73 floors

                  Hotel C:
222m to the roof (212m to the top floor)
230m if you include the antenna
                  1246 rooms/73 floors

You would think it would be a tight race between B and C, with C winning by a nose? Well, those communists in NYC aided by wikipedia claim A!

Incidentally, A is the 1717 Broadway building in NYC with a split Courtyard/Residence.

B is the Westin Peachtree in Atlanta,

And C is the Renaissance Center in Detroit.

It's horseshit and I'm not standing for it.

No. The bastard that founded Wikipedia is an alum of Alabama AND Auburn. I don't trust him because of that, and I'm not gonna edit his pages. FUCK HIM.

Also, related: I have been drinking tonight.
