Well similar to 1980...coming off the heels of the now 2nd worst Presidency post 1900...the "malaise" years...we need a successful Governor to save America yet again....from the now worst Presidency since 1900.
The big difference between Carter and Biden...well besides the fact that Carter was a decent man and Biden is a lying, gaslighting turd...is Carter recognized the malaise of his ineptitude...he just couldn't govern his way out of it. Biden is fiddling whilst Rome is burning...and touts a great economy and secure border...
Bring on Ron DeSactimonious.Shut the fuck up Donny!

That's ridiculous but I must have missed the part that has anything to do with DeSantis.
Edit: And as I suspected, she's a lefty prog working as a principle in a highly conservative area and posts a bunch of negative shit about the parents in her school district. They wanted her out and the statue served a convenient opportunity.Last edited by Mike; March 23, 2023, 09:57 AM.

But I DO think it's representative of the current national climate where we are giving parents too MUCH control over schools. I get why it's happening, but I also think it's wrong. I'm sorry but put 25 kids in a room and one of their parents is going to be someone who is permanently offended. We shouldn't have to run all curriculum past that one most offended person.

It doesn't specifically and it's a coincidence that it happened in Florida. This could have taken place anywhere (it's a private charter school).

Along similar lines and something that DeSantis is actually directly responsible for, I mentioned yesterday that Florida seems like it's going to amend the so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill to include ALL grades K-12. Not just K-3. And I want to hear both sides of it and understand what that actually means. It kinda sounds like gayness in general or "gender identity" is banned as a classroom topic unless part of an official sex ed course. So if you read a book in Senior English and a character is gay, are you not allowed to talk about it or what? Is that book banned from being used? That's what I'd like to know.

As I understand it, the operative word is "instruction" meaning they cannot be taught about those things in a classroom setting unless it is germane to the topic, i.e. sex ed. I don't believe it prohibits books in a HS library but I'm sure people will run around with their on fire claiming it does. Likewise, some right-wing tightwad will get their panties in a bunch over some nonsense like in Tallahassee.

Well now this is interesting. Ray Epps has sent Tucker Carlson a cease & desist letter demanding an on-air apology and retraction. His lawyer is hinting a defamation suit could be coming. The discovery process there could be amazing.

How DARE you call me an FBI agent! Haha. I'm so fucking tired of the Jan. 6 nonsense and would love for the curtain to be pulled back on all this bullshit. The extremes on both sides can suck my dick. NO, it was not an insurrection and NO, it was not an FBI secret op. It was a few hundred hooligans that stormed through security at the Capitol and made a big ruckus because their Cheeto god told them mammoth lies. Within a few hours the place was cleared and business resumed.
Most, if not all, of the rioters are being punished to the fullest extent of the law while folks in liberal enclaves like Portland and Seattle who attacked police stations and federal courthouses in 2020 were largely given a pass. Sure the Capitol is far more symbolic but I don't know if symbolic locations legally warrant stricter application of the law. Seems to me that a riot at a federal building in Portland should be handled similarly to a riot at a federal building in Washington D.C.
Personally, I'm rabidly anti-rioting and would prefer they're all dealt with evenly and harshly. Likewise, I'd love to see some accountability in the media but, again, what goes for Fox News should go for MSNBC and CNN as well. The current broadcast media business model needs a massive disruption in the worst way.
