  • It may not be a planned attack on police. At least some sources are saying a crossfire situation.

      • Beyond disgusting. I, governed by a conscience of reality have no trouble being the 800 lb gorilla in the room, it's shameful that the apologists and enablers can't even frame the language to accurately describe what the fuck is happening and continue to bury their heads.

Honestly, what do blacks add in value to this nation? Popular email meme circulating the country, some metrics or methodology may be in disupte but the underlining tradgey is clear.
Blacks need to stop blaming everyone but themselves for their despicable predicament...not all but most under 40 years of age IMO.

        Recent email:
"While I know this information is not going to please everyone, sometimes facts educate the ignorant and enlighten the uninformed.* Just saying that it worth the time to review this information.* CCF
        Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, JUST A THOUGHT !!!!
WHAT IF ALL BLACKS SUDDENLY LEFT AMERICA, WHICH IS 13.3% OF THE TOTAL US POPULATION:

The prison population would go down by 37%.

There would be 53% less gang members.

        Obesity percentage would drop 11%.

Average IQ would go up 7.4 points, putting us 3rd in the world tied with Japan.

Average SAT scores would go up almost 100 points.

Average ACT scores would go up 5.5 points.

AIDS & HIV would go down by 65%.

Chlamydia cases would go down 54%.

        Gonorrhea would go down 69%.

        Syphilis would go down 58%.

The average income for Americans would go up over $20,000 a year.

Amount of people in poverty would drop 34%.

        Homelessness would go down 57%.

Welfare recipients would go down by 42%.

DEMOCRATS WOULD LOSE 76% OF THEIR VOTING BASE.

And many criminal defense attorneys would have to find another line of work!

So, as sad as it is, Black lives do matter....".

        • If blacks accounted for 76% of the Democrats' voting base, they would literally never win a single national election.

Willing to guess all the stats are wrong. And racism is just a figment of black imaginations, right?

          • Racism is something they need to GET OVER.

The chant "What do we want, ..dead cops .. When do we want it ... now" is NOT the solution.

Again, .. it is NOT the solution.

Any fool that embraces that idea deserves the racism directed toward them.

            • Have you been asleep for the past 50 years liney? There's been black militants calling for killing cops since the mid-60's. Is it rampant everywhere? Of course not. Is it mainstream black opinion? Nope.

I just watched jeff's video. The poster is clearly a imbecilic conspiracy theory nut who rants about Obama moving troops into place to seize the guns of decent folk everywhere. Guess what? Ive been hearing that shit since before he was elected. Guess what? IT HASN'T HAPPENED AND IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. It's right-wing paranoia conspiracy wingnut bullshit. There absolutely is racism in the US, systemic (institutional) and on a personal level. But let's not let this discussion become filled with sweeping generalities.

There is a specific point being raised here as a result of the shootings in Baton Rouge this AM. What is the reason police are being selected as targets for killing by persons who feel aggrieved? Is it justified?

Let's take the last question first. Not even close to be being justified. It is criminal, seditious behavior.

Relating to the first question ...... It is the incitement to violence, in this case the random killing of police officers, on the part of various activists who are not satisfied with how law enforcement is being dealt with by the nation at large and more specifically select police departments.

It's that simple. It is that clear. The perpetrators of this incitement as well as the criminals carrying out acts of murder at their behest need to be identified, hunted down, arrested and jailed until such time as the courts can adjudicate their cases.

There is a time for dealing with racial injustice and a time for dealing with the kinds of violent activism - cop killing - that is becoming a core feature of the Civil Rights Movement of our time. Disgraceful.

Apologies for doing a too quick search to find a video to make my point. All you need to due is Google this: Videos of Black Activists inciting violent actions ....... you will be absolutely shocked. There is incitement to violence - cop killing - that is much more prominent, much more real than at any time in our history. Any time in the civil rights movement.

To suggest that it's nothing new and has been going on since black militants called for killing cops in the mid-60's suggests that some want to mitigate or defend what is going on. The lives of these police officers who have died in the last month at the hands of an aggrieved race is so disgusting to me that it is not in any way defensible.

To have anyone try to deflect attention from the realty of these killings, what they actually represent - a civil rights movement gone completely wrong - or try to defend the current tactics of killing cops as somehow a reflection of police getting what they deserve for not only recent perceived acts of state violence against blacks but also for 200 years of institutional or personal racism is beyond wrong.

                  • Martin Luther King must be turning in his grave. He never advocated violence, and never advocated "we want dead cops". He advocated the struggle for equality and justice.

Jesse Jackson was with MLK the day he was killed. Jesse's silence on all this is deafening.. So is fat Al's....

Jeff, I simply believe you're wrong. This is not new or novel or more prominent. The Black Panthers and other groups very loudly advocated killing cops in the 60's and 70's. I'm coincidentally reading a book on underground 70's terrorist movements (The Weathermen and SLA among them). They assassinated cops and left bombs everywhere. In 1972 alone there were over 1900 domestic bombings in the United States. In the vast majority of those, no one was killed, which is possibly why our collective memory of that happening has faded.

There's no defending killing innocent police or civilians or anyone. But you want to paint the entire civil rights movement as being complicit in this and that's simply wrong. And I want to counter the narrative that's pounded in daily by conservatives here that America is in worse shape than it's ever been...because actual facts and statistics always seem to counteract that narrative.

                        • Jesse Jackson has condemned the killing of the police officers.

Yet, OP posits that America should rid itself of African American people, and no one says a word to him. Perhaps you should be more concerned about what you are doing than what Jesse Jackson is doing.

That is the most ridiculous statement I have ever seen anyone post here in over ten years. How could anyone of any intelligence suggest that the civil rights movement could endorse indiscriminent police shootings, let alone suggest that the movement has adopted such a plan as its core feature. Oh yeah some white guy who has no understanding of what the civil rights movement has been about for the last fifty years.
