  • I referenced this guy up thread and inked to the article he wrote and published in Vanity Fair but forgot the context. It's pertinent to the Niece attack and I'm too lazy to go back and dig it up.

The central theme was unless target countries can win the battle being waged by ISIS in recruiting - prevent them from recruiting as successfully as they have - we're in for a long, long battle with hoards of civilian casualties. French President Francois Hollande said as much today, "we're in for a long period of time with these kind of events." Fuck that. Put your thinking cap on and do something useful you weak kneed frog, unless you're satisfied seeing hundreds of innocent Frenchmen, the ones you are leading, die.

It does not really matter if ISIS had a hand in the Niece attack or not. The end result is a tactical win for them. Small battles, the kinds that wear down an enemies resolve (and to put a strategic objective in the terms ISIS might, the collapse of Infidel Nations) are cumulatively very effective. ISIS or whatever these clowns morph into next, like the Chinese, plan LOOOONG term. If it takes them 100 years to rid the world of Infidels and return it to the 13th Century Caliphate, post Crusades, but with a different outcome, their fine with that.

So, this nutcase in Niece, some Frenchman of Tunisian decent, no doubt has followed radical web sites. No one can prove that but other than being f'ing crazy, what other explanation for a Muslim to hop in a truck and plow through a crowd of friends and families out enjoying a fireworks show killing 84 of them and seriously injuring hundreds more other than some shit he's been reading on the internet about martyring himself for Alah.

The way to completely beat these guys at their game, a tactic mentioned by the author above, is to shut down the internet. Since he states himself (and duhh), that is never going to happen, try something else. Targeting and taking down ISIS Propaganda web sites, social media sites ...... ? Forget it. Will never work. Take one down and 5 others will pop up. These guys are really good.

I just did a Google search on line titled, "how to defeat ISIS on the internet." Rather than link you guys to the literally dozens of interesting people who have good ideas on how to do this and who recognize US State and just as likely the rest of the Western nations sucks at it, do it yourself. Interesting stuff..... like, who are the guys behind developing ISIS video, producing it, funding it? Identify them. I see some drone strikes in order here.

If governments world wide who are primary targets of ISIS don't get their heads out of their butts and figure out how to beat ISIS at its recruiting game, we'll continue to see these kinds of attacks carried out by young hopeless and disillusioned men, maybe Muslims, maybe not. But it is abundantly clear these people have become enamored and sucked in by very intelligent men who are implementing a very intelligent strategy to achieve their long term goals. Time to rethink some strategy and implement something a whole f'ing lot better.

    • More than 2,800 rebels have been detained after their failed military coup that killed at least 250 and wounded more than 1,500 as President Erdogan (pictured) vowed revenge for the bloody uprising.

      • Just popped up in my news briefs ......

Yildirim on Friday denounced what he said was an 'illegal attempt' by elements in the military after bridges were partially shut down in Istanbul and jets flew low over Ankara.

'We are working on the possibility of an attempt. We will not allow this attempt,' he told NTV television by telephone, without expanding on the nature of the move but saying it was by a group in the Turkish military.

'Those who are in this illegal act will pay the highest price,' he added, saying it would not be correct to describe the move as a 'coup'.

Yildirim did not provide details, but said Turkey would never allow any 'initiative that would interrupt democracy'.

If you've followed Turkish history at all, if you go back to Ataturk, the country, well before the current Erdogan government, had a proud military history. The country was ruled by the military for the exact purpose of preventing a return to the days of the Muslim Ottomans and their social, legal and economic methods. The Military has been politically silent but mostly opposed to the rebirth of Islamic traditions in Turkey that Erdogan has been tiptoeing around for the last several years trying to keep both non-Muslim and Muslim interests engaged. It's created a lot of stress.

This could be a good thing in the grand scheme if the Military is actually behind this and it turns out that the military has good intentions. They are certainly powerful enough to pull of a bloodless coup. It will be interesting.

          • Fuckin' A this is goddamn crazy. What's the world come to where you can drive a truck through 80 people and you don't get your full 15 minutes of fame?

Fuck Erdogan, if this is really what's what. I hope his place of exile is Saudi. Not a lot of choices, I'd guess.

Turkey's democratic progress was way overrated anyways. Elections aren't the same as democracy. Implications are huge for ISIS factor.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS CRAZY

                      • The US has a policy of not dealing with governments that came to power through a coup. Yet we need Turkish bases to bomb ISIS. What a clusterfuck.

                        • That's a simple work-around. We just won't refer to it as a coup. It's a democratic process where the people overthrew an unpopular dictator.

"Lower" ranking officers have staged a revolt, ordering the army into the streets and at least 2 airbases to buzz the capital with jets. Erdogan has claimed the revolt was against senior officers and morphed into a coup. Erdogan is running, addressing the nation on an iphone video app Facetime. Martial law has been declared and Erodgan has asked the population to take to the streets in his support.

Not much else besides the usual chaos and conflicting news reports.

                            • Clusterfuck? Probably not. The military which represents the secularist within Turkey, is the ONLY reason the US is basing out of Turkey and has been for decades. If Erdogan had his way, the US would have been booted during his 13 year term as he cuddled up with the Brotherhood. Erdogan's political drift toward Islam is what brought this about. Opponents of Assad in Syria are celebrating in the streets (or the ones Assad hasn't destroyed). This may be good for the ME, bad for ISIS, the Brotherhood and instability these people thrive on and incite.
