Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

Well I think there's good value in bearing witness, but certainly not everybody needs to be doing that. But to your point, Jon, a good friend lives in Nice, and the person she was with during this posted on facebook that bars and restaurants were shutting out people seeking shelter from the streets. They were talking toward the promenade when people came running away, so they retreated and are safe.

That's my hotel window in Nice, where the current attack and carnage occurred!
Pick a side Gentlemen, this is getting crazy. Purge and secure the Nation now or deal with this soft target shit until we crumble.

As more details come out about this guy it seems that once again it's a loser/loner type with no connection to ISIS. His neighbors report that he wasn't religious and had recently been acting unstable due to his marriage falling apart and financial problems.

Who the heck knows? A few months ago ISIS leadership suggested ramming vehicles into people. So whether it comes from on high or from outsiders inspired by the core organization, you still have the same situation. Lone wolf sure does explain the focus on the francophone world though. The UK does a marginally better job incorporating minorities than continental Europe, and France has absorbed a lot of Muslims from their former colonies, who they treat like shit compared to how Muslims are received in Canada or the US or Australia. Hence, France keeps getting hit because it has radicals locally, and not because of decisions made from the ISIS rump state in Mesopotamia, perhaps.
Which all suggests that the correct policy in the US is the exact opposite of the conservative freakout approach. We should not be wetting our panties like OP has. Few countries do multiculturalism better than the US does. It should keep offering Muslims a platform to come, remake their lives, define for themselves what their religions should be on a mosque-by-mosque basis (when they do the answer is always less violent unless there's a Saudi-funded imam), and assimilate themselves into our communities as they have been for decades.
The biggest challenge is the influx of Saudi money for mosque building and to pay for imams that promote Wahhabism. I don't know how you do that without violating constitutional rights.

One of the first things I thought of when I heard of this, is how many truck drivers (in general) that I've heard state that they'd like to do the same thing, because of the frustration they feel driving down the road, dealing with the DOT, State Police, US Customs, etc.. etc.. etc...
Whenever I was behind the wheel, I actually drove with just a bit of fear sitting on my shoulder. I was worried about my trailer being properly hooked, .. are my tires still holding air... are my brake lines full of air and sealed, .. are the lugnuts all tight .. etc..
Yes, we check those in our pre-trip inspections, but things go wrong as you are driving as well .."in order to lead America you must love America"
