    • This stolen election bullshit is a joke. Kari fucking Lake is a joke.

      Jesus

She was a shitty candidate and the people rejected her.

You know, kind of like Herschel Walker.

      Fuck this is stupid

      • GOP got 320,000 more votes than Dems in the 9 U.S. House races, winning 57% - 43% In State Senate, GOP won by staggering 718,000 votes, a 2-1 margin Yet, magically, the most popular Republican
There were two Arizona House races where Republicans were the only name on the ballot: Debbie Lesko in the 8th District and Paul Gosar in the 9th District. There is no House district where a Republican wasn't on the ballot.

Debbie Lesko (R) got 197,000 votes
        A Democrat running as a write-in got 5,100

Paul Gosar (R) Got 193,000 votes
        A Democrat running as a write-in got 3,500

Guess what? Those two races alone more than close that 320,000 gap you're claiming is so "unexplainable" and extremely suspicious. I've got zero interest in researching every single state Senate race in Arizona but I can guarantee that Republicans were running unopposed in some of them too outside of the two big counties.

        • What are you talking about? Kari Lake is a GOP superstar. She had a brilliant strategy of telling McCain supporters that she didn't want their vote.

          • This ought to be very easy to understand.

In Paul Gosar's district he was literally the only name on the ballot. Unless you wrote someone in you could only vote for HIM

But both Katie Hobbs and Mark Kelly and all the other Democrats in statewide races were on those same ballots. So of course even in a very red county the Republicans running for Governor and Sec of State are going to win by smaller margins than the Republican US Rep. running unopposed.

            • Hypothetically, it would generate unlimited carbon-free electricity.
"Hypothetically" is a good adverb to start off that sentence. I'm no nuclear physicist but I do know the thought of building devices that could produce a fusion reaction where the energy could be confined and turned into electricity has been around for a while. The costs have been high but with the right confinement mechanics and at scale, it's exactly as Geezer describes it.

Years ago, when the arm waving about the end of the world in a flaming cauldron became a common line and Gretta Thunberg was getting a lot of attention with her bull shit, there were a bunch of his here that believed technology would overcome the carbon emission global heating problem. Well, here it is. Not ready for prime time but getting there.

Sadly, Geezer is also correct that it's not likely that the US will get a Manhattan like project to turn nuclear fusion energy production into a reality. The reason, IMO, has more to do with Green momentum. The left is comfortable with it. The end of the world scenarios at earth's temps becoming > 2.4 degrees C is, at base, scary shit so, people latch on to ideas like let's go solar, lets' go wind, let's go electric cars. It makes for good politics. Makes leftist greenies electible. The truth is those initiatives are like pissing in the wind. None of those things are going to stop China and India, among other less polluting countries that do that out of necessity, from burning coal and good 'ol oil to power their economies and transportation needs.

Meanwhile, manufacturers are doing high cost re-tooling of their energy needs and car makers are spending billions to make electric cars that go 250 miles between charges that are often hard to find. It's fucking stupid given emerging technologies like this.

              • ...... among stupid things happening, this stolen vote meme being put out there on social media platforms may be the worst. Not recognizing nuclear energy - now known by the general public who care enough to open their fucking eyes, and to come in at least two forms - as the fucking answer to global warming is a longer term problem of stupid that might get turned around.

This continuing line that R's got cheated and by extension Donald Trump (or Kari Lake) should be president, is a short term problem that failing to put this line (and Kari Lake) in the shit can where it belongs will be sure to get D candidates elected in 2024. That's because, as has been repeatedly pointed out here, the election denying Rs continue to push stupid themes like this that any conservative thinking voter with a brain is saying fuck that..... and I'm not going to vote for R candidates because it's what the R party is doing....... and that's despite what just happened in the mid-terms. Unreal!

                • There's a common thread among Rs who under-performed and/or lost easily winnable races. It's as obvious as a frying pan to the face but some people just refuse to see it.

                  • I found this from ISW reports interesting: We've known that the Lukashenko government in Belarus is more or less a Russian proxy government. Still, Belarussian citizens have gotten a taste of "the decadence of the west" and rather like free markets and cool stuff in their stores. Great, it ties Lukashenko's hands in a way. He can't really get too close to Moscow or Putin as, generally speaking, hsi citizens want no part in Putin's war.

Since sometime as early as October, as the Ukrainians were degrading Russian combat power at the fronts, as well as in Russian rear areas (supplies and C&C), Putin was pressuring Lukashenko to send ammunition, tanks and BMPs from Belarussian stocks to Russia to replace what the Russians had lost - a lot. ANalysist are noticing that Belarussian military euipment seems to be disappearing from it's usual storage facilities. It's being publicly disclosed that an elaborate and well disguised transfer of tons of ammunition, fighting vehicles and tanks arrived by rail in Crimea in late November, early December (assuming by circuitous rail delivery). It's being reported that to prevent his citizens from thinking that Lukashenko was sending supplies to the Russians, he prohibited armaments from traveling through population centers where a citizen could rightfully ask, "where's all this shit going? It was claimed as a safety measure when in reality it was a way to shield this large amount of war fighting supplies traveling by rail from prying eyes.

Pretty sure western overhead satellite surveillance has pulled Lukashenko's pants down and he's probably going to hear about it via protests from citizens who strongly object to any Belarussian involvement in the war in Ukraine. Interestingly, the timing of reported Ukrainian HIMAR strikes in Crimea that caused large explosions there go along with the arrival by rail of Belarussian ammunition and tanks. Ya think the west is helping Ukraine with targeting?..... not to mention civilian observers sympathetic to Ukraine's objectives are out and about as well.

                    • Sam Bankman Fried has apparently been arrested in the Bahamas and will be extradited to the United States.

Quite a shocking development. Perhaps the Dems have realized that they need to throw at least one sacrificial lamb out there to keep people from storming Washington with torches and pitchforks? Either that or he really pissed someone off. Or he is going to get Epsteined.

                      • Shitloads of voting irregularities and broken rules in Arizona once again. Including, once again, people whi have submitted sworn affidavits that election rules were broken. If they are all lying you would think that the Democrat-run DOJ would have prosecuted at least one of them by now, knowing how vindictive and partisan Merrick Garland is. They made a show out of dragging Roger Stone out of his house in his bathrobe for much less.

                          • If you say so, bro. You guys didn't bat an eyelash throwing Jan 6 trespassers into prison without a trial, some of whom aren't even accused of committing violent crimes and are still languishing in prison. With the hair trigger that Democrats have persecuting their political enemies and making examples of them, you would think that they would be able to find one whistleblower who got wrong the color of the shirt he was wearing that day so that they could throw him into prison too.

                              • BTW -- it's December 12, and for some reason, we haven't seen the Paul Pelosi bodycam footage. Holy shit did that story get memory-holed quickly once it was reported that the footage didn't match the narrative. Credit NBC with a brief moment of accidental journalism there (but they corrected it quickly).
