The fusion story is fascinating. I'll throw this out there, too -- there are lots of very interested parties who would like to see this go the way of the dodo. Remember that. You mean like OPEC, and ( fill in the blank ) 'green" industries?

I'd be in favor of government support for fusion research. I think that's the way to go. Especially if it could ever be adapted to cars, trucks, and home heating/cooling systems.
