    • Good for Stacy Abrams.

She said that if a woman's life or health were in danger, "viability" should be extended.

      That is common sense.

I know if the choice was between my wife living or the life of an unborn child, there would be no hesitation.

BTW, the "Abortion of convience just before birth" is a myth.

                      • Ukraine: We're going to see a fluid stiuation in Ukraine for a while. It's not much of stalemate with the Ukrainins making meaningful advances right now but that will come. The Ukraians are trying to get all the gains they can get before the weather turns against doing that. Most of Ukraine gets fucking cold by early to mid November and stays that way though most of March. Obviously that didn't stop Putin from Launching his war in Ukraine in the dead of winter ..... from heated armored personnel carriers and tanks. When it came to dismounting those babys and fighting in the cold, they sucked. Lots of Russian soldierswere killed sitting inside those big boys parked in what ammounted to big parking lots of high value targets that Ukraine in the early going targeted.

Yes, winter. It did stop the Germans this time it could stop the Russians. Another factor is this that I clipped from the ISW web site:

The Kremlin is responding to the defeat around Kharkiv Oblast by doubling down on crypto-mobilization rather than setting conditions for general mobilization. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov called on all federal subjects to initiate “self-mobilization” and not wait on the Kremlin to declare martial law.[2] Kadyrov claimed that each federal subject must prove its readiness to help Russia by recruiting at least 1,000 servicemen instead of delivering speeches and conducting fruitless public events. Russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan echoed the need for Russians to volunteer to join the war effort, and several loyalist Russian governors publicly supported Kadyrov’s speech.[3] The Russian-appointed head of occupied Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, announced the formation of two volunteer battalions on the peninsula in support of Kadyrov’s calls.[4]

"Crypto Mobilization" is the shit Putin is pulling to avoid having to declare martial law an a full-on mobilization. It's been ongoig for about a month with poor success. As Russian men find out what's going on in Ukraine to Russian troops, they're not lining up to serve and get poorly led and, when the battle gets tough, watch their commanders run. That's happening. This isn't something ginned up by Ukrainin propagandists. You can be sure though they are megphoning it. Social media is full of validated video from locals in Kharkiv taping these fucker on thier phones running away.

From the clip above, this Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is supposedly coming aboard to do two things: (1) Distance Putin from the idiots in the Russian MOD (and the whole CoC), allowing Putin to scapegoat Shoigu and his buddies there for the failure of Putin's war. (2) Rally recruitment and get the nationalist milbloggers back on board. No one that I'm reading thinks Kadyrof or his plan is going to make a substantial difference. The reasons for that are the Russian people that might make good soldiers are hiding out, disinterested or both. There are rising ethnic tensions over who is fighting and dying in Ukraine - it's not the young men in Moscow but rather the old, poor and underpriviledged in the east.

There is so much fluidity in the battle space right now and so many uncertainties that no one is predicting an outcome. There is speculation that Ukraine can "win." Whatever that means. The facts are that it is highly unlikely Putin is suddenly going to change his mind about owning Ukraine. He still has enormous advantages in manpower and equipment, if not being significantly attrited in this foolish undertaking of his. He can still defend what he has including Crimea. It takes an offense facing a defense in combat to have at least a 3:1, and more palatable a 5:1, advantage in soldiers and hardware. Ukraine obtaining a hardware advantage is possible if not by numbers, then by better technology. The low state of moral of Russian soldiers, the tricky situation with "Crypto Mobilization," poor officer leadership and inherent in that the demonstrable, so far, inability to bring the full range of combined arms into focus on a meaningful objective and obtain it is going to make it hard for Putin to succed even on alimited basis. I see some unpleasant choices ahead for Putin .... then again, the guy is coated with Teflon.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Says who? You? You're a male, remember? You have no valid opinion in this.

If a woman decides to abort her baby at the last moment before live birth, we've been told she can do that for whatever reason she chooses. "my body my choice", .. and all that.

What if there was a lesbian or homosexual couple waiting to adopt, who would have provided that child with a loving home?

That might be a good question for 'mayor' Pete.

                              • Life of the mother? Ok. "Health" of the mother? GTFO. And they're obviously two different things or they'd be redundant. "Health" of the mother almost always includes "mental" health of the mother. So, you know, you can kill a baby seconds before birth because it will affect the mental well-being of the woman. Whatever.

In any event, what Abrams said was that she believes there should be no limits on abortion. That the decision is a medical one, not a political one. I repeat, no limits.

Even Strangelove would have to concede that Abrams is wildly out of touch on that one. If he can pull himself away from QE2 Twitter and/or anime porn.
