Ukraine: The Russians attacked a train station in the Dnipro area of Ukraine late afternoon, Ukraine time. It killed 15 people. There were other attacks today but not some great shower of rockets that some expected, especially Zelenski who warned citizens to not gather in large groups to celebrate Ukraine's Independence Day. Details are sketchy but, my take is that the lack of sustained and credible numbers of long range ship and air launched rockets being launched into Ukraine reflects a general shortage of these precision weapons and the platforms that typically launch them.
In military/political news, ISW believes that Putin is directing two field commanders, one on the eastern and one of the southern axis, bypassing typical MOD and in0country command structures. This isn't new but rumors of this come and go as analysist watch the comings and goings of military higher-ups in Russia From a historical perspective no major war in the modern age has been successfully prosecuted when the head guy tries to take charge. Hitler is the most recent example of the stunning later failures of the German army in WWII ordered to fight on multiple fronts spreading resources thin. Analysts do know that Russia is trending heavily to resources shortages in manpower, weapons and logistic means to deliver the supplies need for combat operations to the front lines.
