Oz will need a biblical red tsunami. His fundamental numbers are terrible and he has no ability to materially change them. His only morbid hope is that his opponent’s health fails.

He’s a fucking trash candidate that is the direct result of DJT and his bottomless pit of vanity and bad judgment.

Eh. Oz isn't a very likeable guy and he's way too socially Liberal for my taste, but his opponent is a far Left socialist Bernie Bro whose politics are miles off of the Pennsylvania center. Oz does have a shot if he makes it an issue-focused campaign. Also -- June midterms polls have been notorious for underestimating waves.

As a general premise, that's correct. However, I think Oz has fundamental numbers which are really bad AND I think he's a bad politician, so I'm not sure how he effectively turns those numbers around. His obvious best bet is to tie Fetterman to The Chairman and ride the Red Wave, but I just don't see it. Or rather, it'd take a bigger wave than I think is coming -- and I think a big wave is coming.

Anyway, we'll know in 5 months. I've been wrong before and will be wrong again. Though, not about the merit of chemistry-based humor.

It’s remarkable, to me, that the Rs have a massive opportunity to beat back the Progs in two successive elections and, yet, they will almost surely fail to maximize their moment because of DJT. This. The thing is that it's the ideals that Trump espouses that made the difference in 2016. Trump as a character is just plain toxic and the D's, especially the Prog subset, have feasted on that toxicity to get us where we are right now. It's been made painfully clear that the Progs were driven mostly by piss and vinegar and that they've really got nothing better to offer than a puppet show with a dottering fool that's driving this country underground.

As you stated, the problem is that while this is a WAAAY bigger opportunity than 2016, the R's really need Trump to just go away. They need to let a pragmatic sector of the party, led by someone like DeSantis, take over.

No surprises. The NY law is unconstitutional in a 6-3 vote. There's a lot to read (it's over 120 pages) and don't have time for it now so I don't know if it really goes beyond Heller or just reinforces it.
