She says no one's going to miss a couple of controversial books when the library has so many others. Gets a rousing round of applause as she finishes.

          • Its on the record that our newest USSC Associate Justice cannot define what a woman is, although by traditional appearances, she is one. But, maybe she's not, in which case The Chairman's desire to add 'a black woman' to the USSC has failed. Just like everything else he's touched.

Men can become pregnant, .. well trans men, .. wait.. not just trans men... ANY man can become pregnant.... maybe... in theory...

When do the sane people finally take a stand and say "enough"?

            • You're right.

It is time to take as stand as say enough.

The pastor has no place in a public school. Period.

              • Actually, the pastor has as much right to be at the public school as you do.

He doesn't have the right to use his access to force all the students and faculty to become a Methodists, Baptists or Episcopalians. But he has the Constitutionally protected right to practice his faith any way he sees fit, without government interference. Even in a public school building.

And any conservative who cried about Dr. Seuss can kindly STFU if they stay silent when the Ned Flanders types start banning anything that's too "anti-Christian:"

No public school district should be appointing a pastor to make curriculum decisions or being solely responsible for choosing the books in the school library.

                    • I didn't really think it was possible, but at Day 486 of their respective administrations, DJT sat at a dismal 42% and The Chairman sits at 40.7% (per 538).

For basically all of DJT's 2nd, 3rd and 4th years he was between 40 and 42. That's the course The Chairman has charted.

Now, DJT was presiding over a very good economy and doing nothing of consequence to fuck it up. Whereas, well, The Chairman is facing some challenges and doing everything he can to make them much, much worse. Then again, a lot of Ds were sure we were in for a BDIEN BOOM!!!! so maybe he wasn't facing challenges. Regardless, The Chairman's handling of, well, about everything has put him solidly into DJT numbers.

And the Ds lesson learned -- "we need better messaging because we aren't effectively communicating how fucking awesome we are."

                        • That seems about right. I mean, to be fair, The Chairman isn't a mind-reader. Except for the people who called out the real possibity of formula shortages back in Jan/Feb, it was impossible to predict.

Fortunately, The Chairman has a NC R who lost his primary, the BIDEN BOOM!!!! and GREEDFLATION!!!!! to fall back on. The voters shall reward him.

                          • We have a nation with plenty of baby formula just to the north of us but protectionist trade policy (pushed by both parties) has basically made it impossible to import from there. The renegotiated USMCA made it even worse. In 2021 the US imported exactly ZERO formula from Canada. Instead, they export mainly to China.

Restrictive trade policies are contributing to the U.S. shortage of baby formula because products can’t be easily substituted from abroad.

                              • The Chairman should take that argument to the folks.

Setting aside my bountiful criticisms of The Chairman, it's politically staggering that he was at 52-42 after roughly 200 days and is now mired at 40-52. His Covid "Misson Accomplished" moment and Afghanistan started the spiral. But, I'm still honestly surprised he is swimming in Trump waters.
