      • Blackburn owned KBJ with that brilliant question. Scored her a kickass interview on Hannity I bet.

Cruz, Graham, and Hawley all got interviews on Fox prime time last night. The entire point of their "why are you pro-kiddy porn?" angle. Nobody on Fox is interested in speaking with sleepy Chuck Grassley or Ben Sasse, who not so subtly hinted many of his republican colleagues are jackasses.

            • Why are so many conflating history teaching with CRT teaching? In the minds of many progressive educators, history teaching has become so intertwined with CRT tenets like systemic racism and white privilege that they can scarcely imagine how they could teach history without teaching it through the lens of CRT and without a strong activist element. As Bridgit Martinez, a high school ethnic studies teacher, acknowledges in a November 2021 essay in the Sacramento Bee, “While discussions of critical race theory have grown vigorously, many history teachers have been teaching about it all along.”

              Bingo.

I really don't care if they show respect or not. Just spare me the "this is payback for Bork", "this is payback for Clarence", "this is payback for Kav" talk. Grow a pair, grow a spine, take responsibility for your actions. None of this "The Dems forced our hand we have no choice or free will" malarkey. MALARKEY, I say!

But dumb is dumb and Marsha Blackburn is very dumb. And most of the other showboats are utter phonies, thirsting for likes on Facebook. Did you see Lyin' Ted browsing Twitter once his turn was over? Ah well, if he has any personality flaws, he's not to blame. A Dem made him that way.

                            • The Wall Street Journal cites an unnamed NATO official claiming that Russia has lost as many as 40,000 troops killed, wounded, or missing of the roughly 190,000 deployed to invade Ukraine. That assessment, which is plausible given previous estimates of Russian combat deaths, must be considered in the context of the assessment offered by an unnamed Department of Defense official on March 21 that Russia had committed a high proportion of its available battalion tactical groups to the war already. The US DOD report has also been estimating between 7000 and 14000 Russian troops had been killed. That would leave, on the hihg side, as many as 26K wounded or deserted. I can believe that.

There's an unconfirmed but probable report that the Russians are blocking Russian citizens from fleeing Crimea. As residents there, especially those who work for the Russian government or are family members of Russian soldiers and seaman, panicked after they couldn't get information about family members and were frustrated over conflicting reports of the war. One from Russian state media and the other from social media or from western news sites that are painting an entirely different picture, one depicting serious problems for the Russian invasion, involving the conflict in Ukraine.

I continue to believe that the conflict is moving to a protracted one. The CTR web site I'm following has updated it's map of where Russian front lines are as of yesterday at 5pm our time. It's obvious that these lines extend right up to but do not include major Ukrainina cities - Irpin, Mavereski and Bovary that are suburbs of Kiev and in the south, Dinipro, Zaporishya, kherson, Mikoliv and Odessa. Ukrainian General Staff reports that Ukrainian forces have reestablished control over Kherson in the south and Russians have yet to control Mariupol with street to street fighting continuing against dwindling Russian troop willingness to fight. The CTR acknowledges that they cannot confirm that Ukrainian forces have "retaken" Mavereski or Kherson but social media reports are strongly suggestive that has happened.

I want to be cautious about thinking the Russian Army is failing spectacularly. Some of that is the typical headlines I see in the MSM that contradict that assessment - not so much with hard evidence, like I can see on the CTR reports, but rather with the horror stories of civilian deaths and the destruction of Ukrainian life. I'm probably 70/30 in believing everything I'm reading on the CTR website but admit a motivational bias.

That simple truth, which consistently gets mocked by the left, goes a long way to explain how Trump got elected.

But hey, keep thinking that he's a racist, lying con man that controls and organizes circle jerks for the deplorables that live in the wastelands of this country.
