I couldn't care less about the "current Communist Party.." in Russia. That is like saying the Democrat party in the US believes in democracy.

The fundamental characteristic of a communist regime is the state control of the "commanding heights" of the economy. That is like steel production or technology and always includes the military. Communism differs from Socialism only in that the communists believe in historical determinism and the use of violence in attaining the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Fascism "allows" private actors to control the commanding heights of the economy, but only so long as the private parties do exactly what the government wants. Thus, Volkswagon could stay private as long as they produced military hardware. Today, in the US, we have tech giants doing exactly what the elites tell them to do.

Russia isn't communist. It's a Kleptocracy. Other names are acceptable but not Communist. Private property exists. Wages aren't determined by the State. Something like a free market exists.

It's an authoritarian state to a degree, not as extreme as North Korea, but not everything authoritarian is communist and not everything you dislike is communist.

Both Communism and Fascism want a state-run economy. Communists want a state-run economy to benefit the working class. Fascism is nationalistic in that the state should run the economy in order to benefit "The Nation". Who gets to count as part of The Nation depends on the dictator you're talking about. Hitler would have a much more restricted view of The Nation than Francisco Franco, for example.

Democratic strategist James Carville admitted that he wants to punch unvaccinated citizens in the "god----ed" face.

I'm fully vaxed, but I'd like to stand in front of him and tell him I'm not, just so he'd take a shot at me. He'd be looking up at the sky about 3 seconds later.

                    • Honestly, I thought we were well beyond anyone here actually believing the total horseshit about Antrim County but crash never lacks for his ability to surprise. He's still a fervent believer that the ghost of Hugo Chavez is manipulating our elections through Dominion machines.

There's a good link to a counter-report in the article Jon posted below

                      ******************************

Fraud claims in ASOG’s Antrim County report have previously been widely debunked by election officials, including Chris Krebs, a former member of the Trump administration who oversaw election security; Ryan Macias, former acting director of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission’s Voting System Testing and Certification Program; and John Sebes, co-founder and chief technology officer of Open Source Elections Technology Institute.

A University of Michigan professor of computer science and engineering, J. Alex Halderman, is the latest to take issue with the accuracy of ASOG’s claims of fraud, stating he found an “extraordinary number of false, inaccurate, or unsubstantiated statements and conclusions,” in the ASOG report.

Halderman refuted the most serious of these in his own 54-page report, commissioned by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel.

“The report affirmed there was no credible evidence the Dominion system was deliberately designed to induce errors, and found the Allied Security Operations Group report contained an extraordinary number of false, inaccurate or unsubstantiated statements,” a Secretary of State press release stated. “The report identified areas for improvement including voting system design, training and security, but concluded the errors in Antrim County were not the result of a security breach.”

Antrim County Clerk Sheryl Guy has repeatedly acknowledged human error by her office caused initial results of the county’s presidential election to be reported incorrectly. Those mistakes were corrected and the certified results were confirmed as accurate by the Dec. 17 hand recount, Bureau of Elections records show.

                      • Crash I imagine you know who Mark Finchem is. He and Wendy Rogers are two of the biggest loudmouth MAGA losers in state-level politics. They accomplish nothing in real life, but hey, they sure as fuck know how to do an empty gesture. And MAGA clods reward them for their performance art with massive donations.

Finchem introduced a bill to "decertify the election" in three Arizona Counties today. Here's what your Speaker thinks of Finchem's bill

                        • In the I cant believe people are still thinking this way category ......the NYT in its morning news feed headlined this: More Democratic Governors Ending School Mask Mandates. In it they cite two studies that say masks don't work to prevent spread of SARS2 in schools, one that said they do work, then stated it was debunked.

Great. Then the article goes on to say, masks are a good idea in schools. Experts tell us this. Masking kids in school is idiotic and does way more harm than good. The reason I bring this piece up is that it points out the incredible amount of contradictory information on just about every aspect of the pandemic floating around out there.

What's a very good thing about this is that the folks are saying fuck this and starting to return to normal routines in droves. They're learning to make their own risk assessments moving us toward the mental end point of the pandemic ..... lessening then eliminating the fear factor.

Still, the COVID Karens want you to stay fearful for lots of reasons discussed here in the past - none of them good.

Remember, 70% of the deer population is thought to be carrying COVID. Oh, wait, no case has been transmitted to a human.......but be scared about that.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
