  • The tornado that hit Mayfield first formed in Arkansas. Seen some talk that when all the data comes in it might be the longest track tornado is US history. And the first E-5 since the one that hit Moore, Oklahoma in 2013.

Anyways, challenging the constitutionality of the law itself will take 1 or 2 years and the Mississippi case will be decided long before then. I'm pretty confident at this point that Roe will be thoroughly reduced if not completely reversed. If that happens, they go so far as to end Roe completely, then any suit involving the Texas law is pointless, unless the Supremes want to comment more on the law's structure (they should!) rather than its merits.
I agree with you that private lawsuits by private "enforcers" can cause future mischief. Not good. I certainly HOPE Roe "will be thoroughly reduced" to use your phrase.

But what you lefties need to acknowledge is that there is not now nor has there ever been a constitutional right to an abortion. This was "rule by judicial fiat" following the 1968 publication of The Population Bomb, one of the most ignorant but influential books ever published. Roe never had any basis in constitutional law. I remember those days, and everyone suddenly decided to have only one child at most. And this was also the time that the pill came into common use. It took the Julian Simon Bet to put the lie to Urlich's thesis. Those of us who recognized Urlich's total lack of respect for market signals and their ability to "discover" new resources, were crying in the wilderness in 1970. IMO, human beings are a source of real wealth in a country and I have favored unlimited legal immigration for my whole life.

Abortion is the holy sacrament of the left. It is the antithesis of Christian thought and morality. If progs want to legalize abortion nationally, then amend the constitution. If not, then let each state decide for itself as was the case pre-Roe.

                • Yeah unlike some of the other communities, Mayfield's downtown took a direct hit. It's a town of about 10,000 people.

This article has a picture of what the county courthouse used to look like and drone footage of what happened to it.

As many as 50 to 100 people are feared dead in Kentucky following "the most severe tornado outbreak in our state's history," Gov. Andy Beshear said.

                        • Going to CNN+, whatever that is. Probably a reward for how well he debated Trump in the first Presidential Debate last year.

                          He'll fit perfectly at CNN.

I have no idea why he waited so long. He's a much better fit at the crapfest known as CNN.

That's one thing Trump was right about. CNN is fake news. The only one worse is pMSNBC.
