  • Hannibal, your summary is spot on.

Kapture, it defies all common sense that someone could think he went there to mass murder people but just milled around for a few hours and then only shot people who were violently attacking him. Yep. He just indiscriminately shot people. JFC.

        • Youtube is disabling dislikes soon. Their "Oceania has always been at war wit Eastasia"-like explanation for this move is that they want to protect small creators.

            • There’s been a lot of disabled comments on the live streams of the trial too. Lol. That’s always a good indication of which way the winds are blowing.

              • Earlier this week we saw exactly what The Media is with their preposterous story on the Kenosha Judge's "racist" Asian comments.

Here's a spectacular article on exactly what Academia is -- and, please note, this the SCIENCES. This isn't even the wildly left actual Marxist liberal arts: https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...en-nobody-won/

Folks can keep hand-waving this shit away as fabricated or otherwise unrepresentative, but they're just whistling past the graveyard on that.

                • Nice blog entry summarizing the Fifth Circuit again finding that the Biden Vaccine Mandate is amost certainly unconstitutional: https://www.nationalreview.com/corne...ccine-mandate/

The Court minced no words in this decision and is entirely correct. It's a fucking preposterous bit of virtue-signaling for the Covid Hawks. It's virute signaling because it's ostensibly an "emergency" rule that isn't going into effect in any sort of "emergency" timeline. It's more shit from The Chairman.

Highly impulsive people who lean conservative are more likely to share false news stories. They have a desire to create chaos and won’t be deterred by fact-checkers

                      • As a libertarian (little L libertarian) and economic conservative, I can say there has always been far-left wokeism. I’ve seen it. But it’s different now. The reason it’s different now is that before, the decision makers looked at the ridiculousness, shook their collective heads, and said, “Nah, that’s fucking nuts.” Somewhere along the line, many in power stopped doing that and started joining the High Sparrows of Wokeisms in their shouts of “Shame!” I personally don’t think they did it because they philosophically agreed with it but, rather, it was an easier path because the far-left SJWs made much more noise with protests and boycotts and making some perceive offense go viral on the internet. As a result, placating them was the path of least resistance for that decision maker’s company or institution to appease this vocal minority of idiots.

Because of the above, today, if you don’t agree with the SJWs and the Woke and lockstep join in their choruses and chants, you are a Nazi or a racist or a white supremacist. Worse than the name calling, many people in power -CEOs and HR Directors- set policies to hurt you for your anti-woke heresy. They seek to remove you from your job or limit your business opportunities. Their goal to silence dissent has been damned effective. If you doubt this, and work for a large corporation, try saying MAGA, or that you believe in the gender binary or that blacks are not systematically oppressed anymore or a hundred different things and you find yourself out of a career or your business can’t get a government contract or you’re doxxed and have “protesters” in your yard.

It didn’t happen all at once. The climate change was slow frog-in-a-pot-of-water incrementalism. And, make no mistake, this group of Woke SJWs are still the minority, but good people are scared to speak up for the reasons listed above, ironically like the average German was scared to speak up as the Third Reich came into power - the very group they accuse those out of lockstep of being.

The pendulum can swing back from the fringe, but it will take people refusing to acquiesce to the idiocy even if doing so makes things personally uncomfortable for them.

Bah. Glad I’m not a young guy climbing the ladder anymore. Makes me sad for my grandkids, though.

                        • Excellent points.

We as a society need to overturn cancel culture. It has never been the case in this country where thought crimes were punishable, but they are now. The analogy to Hitler's pre-war Germany is spot on.

                          • The WaPo poll today is, ummm, less than great for the Chairman and, well, all Ds. Again, the best thing they have going for them is that it's not 2022 and 2024. But HFS, 38-59....That's downright Trumpian.

                              • I would imagine that behind the scenes the DNC is trying to formulate a plan where they can ease Joe out of the WH, but they're not likely very thrilled with who his replacement will be. She's no more popular than he is. They may be hoping that the Republicans will be the first to broach the 25th Amendment thing, so they can use it against them politically. (INSURRECTION!!!!)

Hopefully, the R's will not fall into that trap. Let the Dems admit their mistake all by themselves.
