Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season

Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

  • In concert with DSL's penchant for post about stuff nobody gives a shit about (except you fuckers should) this is very good piece on what needs to done going forward as the COVID pandemic becomes an epidemic. Well, at least folks are writting about what most of us here have been talking about for 3 months. The Cliff notes:
    • How to measure COVID disease impact and then use these metrics to establish when to impose and when to ease various mitigation measures.
    • In determining which mitigation to measure (duh) ...... evaluate the benefits v. the cost.
    • Recognize that disease impact (however one plans to measure it) will vary widely by geographic locations.
    • Recognize that disease impact as age related and impose and ease mitigation measures accordingly (fuck yeah .... we've been talking about this here for a month now).
    • Recognize that the over 50 population is at the highest risk of more serious cases of COVID and prioritize policy approaches to protect this age cohort.

What could go unnoticed is that at least right now it looks like Dem turnout around Richmond and the Hampton Roads was a total disaster. Biden beat Trump in Richmond city 92,000 to 16,000. A lot needs to be reported but it's pretty obvious McAuliffe won't get anywhere close to that. He can maybe hope for a 30,000 vote win.
Turnout overall, though, is gonna be pretty high for a governor’s race. And the Rs are winning everywhere.

Unless the article is about transgender issues, Jeff, I'm afraid this crowd will regard it as frivolous and of little importance to their day-to-day lives.

Now if you can find anything juicy about a Brandeis sophomore declaring themselves to be of five different genders and three species to boot, please share with the therapy group. They have a lot of repressed anger they'd like to express.

        Hello everybody!

Yes, true, it could be close to Presidential year turnout in the end.

              • Little point I've seen mentioned here and there: Youngkin won the nomination through a state convention run by party insiders. Had an actual primary election been held, quite possible someone very Trumpy would have won.

That’s very interesting. I’ve come to the conclusion that primaries, at least for president, fucking suck and tend to produce the worst candidates.

                    • Primaries generally suck. Huge problem, IMO.

                        • Murphy won 56-42 in 2017 for reference. He ran against Chris Christie's Lt. Gov who might as well been road kill.

As it should... can't believe ~40% of the voters actually wanted to reform it. WAY to progressive for my liking.
