Can't watch that at work. Are they alleging a conspiracy/cover-up or is it a straight-forward account of how little has been revealed about the guy?

Both.
The host of the channel is a 20+ year Special Forces vet who served in Panama, Iraq, and Afghanistan and knows how weapons work and what they sound like, having fired just about every gun on Earth. I'm not an expert on firearms, but I have yet to hear one who listens to the audio of the two overlapping gunfire sounds and buys into the conventional explanation that the second gunfire stream is an "echo". According to both of the guys on the video, they aren't even the same weapon, which would have to mean at least two shooters. They also quash the notion that the automatic fire is the result of a bump stock, which briefly became the nation's boogeyman. It's a belt-fed machine gun.Last edited by Hannibal; October 19, 2021, 04:54 PM.

Nebraska Congressman Jeff Fortenberry uploaded a video this morning telling supporters he's expecting to be indicted soon (for lying to FBI). Has something to do with illegal campaign donations a few Congressmen took from some Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire
He may be guilty, he may not. I just love the inference that this is a nefarious plot to take him out. Coastal elites have been plotting to take down Jeff Fortenberry for years!
Dude, no one knows who you are. The last time you were in national news was because you threw a hissy fit over someone altering a campaign sign to read Jeff "Fartenberry" and gave you googly eyes. Shaddup.
Jeff Fortenberry's chief of staff tried to cause trouble for a political science professor who liked a post of a vandalized campaign sign.

There is a conspicuous lack of lookbacks, retrospectives, and documentaries on the subject. The conventional explanation for what happened that night is incomplete. For instance, which of his many weapons did the shooter supposedly use? I have never heard this. The focus in the aftermath was on bump stocks, despite the unlikelihood that he was shooting at people below with a bump-stocked weapon, although they did apparently find some in his room. When did he shoot out the second window from his hotel room? Why would he do this? What is the moment-by-moment narrative of the shooting? What happened with him and the cops supposedly exchanging gunfire through the door? Who did he eat room service with that day?

Yeah, that was posted in another thread, too. "Around CFB", maybe. Not only was he let go but 4 assistants as well. So their season is pretty much shot.
I don't like that it was a state mandate that got him fired. Not comfortable AT ALL with the state telling people that you have to do X or else. I grant a lot more leeway to private entities to decide how they want to run their operations but, IMO, the state shouldn't have that authority. Seems like the coaches could have a case under constitutional protections, wouldn't they?

Mike, yes, I think so and there's several law suits pending litigation or on appeal to SCOTUS concerning the state's authority to mandate vaccines. I'm against it. Even though I've tipped my toes in the waters of vaccine mandates at all levels to get vax rates up, that is a highly controversial approach to achieve that result.
I've pretty much stopped posting about COVID. Wall Street say's, "it's over." It may not actually be over but it is definitely entering a phase where it can be managed. Took a while as several of us here have been seeing it as a manageable virus and one not necessitating a declaration of a health emergency for a while.
This is letter written by a Marine I served with who after leaving the Corps went to Medical School. He's a smart guy and I found the editorial he wrote for his local paper in CA pretty good and talks to the issue of the dangers of allowing the feds or the states to mandate vaccination:

There's nothing good about it. A man (and several assistants) have lost their jobs, and they STILL aren't vaccinated. Firing them won't get them immunized.
So, the problem is still there, but now a guy is unemployed.
I fail to see the good in that."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

I see lots of good to that. The man is standing by his (in)actions. He wants to be a potential spreader and endanger others rather than be employed.
I'm not advocating mandates, but I have no sympathy if he choses the path of a being a dumb f*ck.I don't watch Fox News for the same reason I don't eat out of a toilet.

Is there a point where judges might reevaluate the state's ability to impose covid mandates once the threat is passed? Probably. It'll become more like how the flu shot is viewed. But for at least the time being the courts will generally side with public health authorities. See the lawsuit the Indiana U students brought. They lost at every level and the Supreme Court slammed the door in their face.
Even with the flu shot, I know certain hospitals that require employees to get them. I don't know if state-run facilities are allowed to do that or not.

So, if Donald Trump had issued the mandate for all to receive "his" vaccines, our progressive folks here would be rooting him on, yes?
Also, in the space of less than a year, healthcare workers who refuse the vax have gone from being "heroes" to being "scum, worthy of losing their jobs".
"Vax, or you're fired". Sounds like a Trump mini-series.
