Biden's even causing sky high energy prices, a labor shortage, and empty store shelves in Britain! Unbelievable!
Brexit and covid have nothing to do with it! It's Biden!
Empty shelves, gasoline shortages and sky-high energy prices? Britain is facing a ‘difficult winter’Britain has been plunged into uncertainty as issues over gasoline, electricity and food have prompted warnings of "a really difficult winter" for the country.

It's probably not Brexit then.

This is what happens when The Chairman panders to environmentalists. As if stopping oil and gas lines here in America brings 'clean air'. The real violators are Russia and China, and they have only paid lip service to 'global warming' for decades.
For the US, it just means higher prices. Democrats with big investments in gas and oil thank you for your patronage."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

Legal and political realities seem to have tempered the administration’s ambitions for ending fossil fuel extraction on federal lands.
New permits for companies to extract oil and gas from U.S. public lands are on pace to hit their highest level since George W. Bush was in office, undermining the president's ambitious climate goals.
And you can see lease sales have been continuing all year

Originally posted by Dr. Strangelove View PostGranted, the Biden people had a huge backlog of permits to deal with and the pace has slowed down from the first half of the year. The Trump administration was full of lazy assholes that mainly wanted to be on tv rather than do any work.
And DSL, you mentioned you worked in the O+G business. Is that true? If you do, you can't possibly believe shutting down fossil fuel production is good for the country.

I do NOT believe shutting down the oil & gas industry is good for the country and I am well aware it hasn't happened.
Federal lands account for only about 10% of all nat gas production. Biden's executive order was shot down like everyone knew it would be and they continued granting existing applications in the meantime. Enough to be the most in over a dozen years.
What you said is very true, there was a rush in Trump's final days to approve as much as possible. But even with that, there was still a huge glut he left behind and those are the ones Biden Interior Dept approved through the summer. That's possibly covid-related as well -- no one was in a rush to drill anywhere for most of 2020.
The "lazy asshole" crack was pure provocation on my part but I feel the characterization is quite accurate
