        • From those videos, I'd say that Hamas has declared war on Israel. Israel should respond accordingly.

It should be clear to all by now that "palestinians' are NOT in favor of any 'peace agreement" with Israel. Two state, three state or 10 state solution, .. they aren't interested. They want Israel and all JEWS out of Israel. When so-called palestinians call for the liberation of palestine, they are not calling for Israel to withdraw to 1967 borders. They want an end to Israel, and ALL of Israel gone.

But of course, Chairman Joe will still try and suck up to the palestinians enablers in Iran trying to get back into the stupidly negotiated "agreement" that Obama/Kerry signed on to. Anyone who thinks Iran's nuclear program is for "peaceful purposes" needs to check into the nearest mental ward.

I hope Israel kicks ass this time around. They've tolerated enough of this crap.

              • Liz Cheney, one of the House's most conservative Republicans, yesterday evening:

"Madam Speaker, I rise tonight to discuss freedom and our constitutional duty to protect it.

I have been privileged to see first-hand how powerful and how fragile freedom is. 28 years ago, I stood outside a polling place, a schoolhouse in western Kenya. Soldiers had chased away people lined up to vote. A few hours later, the people began streaming back in, risking further attack, undaunted in their determination to exercise their right to vote.

In 1992, I sat across a table from a young mayor in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia and listened to him talk of his dream of liberating his nation from communism. Years later, for his dedication to the cause of freedom, Boris Nemtsov would be assassinated by Vladimir Putin’s thugs.

In Warsaw, in 1990, I listened to a young Polish woman tell me that her greatest fear was that people would forget what it was like to live under communist domination, that they would forget the price of freedom.

Three men – an immigrant who escaped Castro’s totalitarian regime; a young man who grew up behind the iron curtain and became his country’s minister of defense; and a dissident who spent years in the Soviet gulag have all told me it was the miracle of America captured in the words of President Ronald Reagan that inspired them to seek freedom.

I have seen the power of faith and freedom. I listened to Pope John Paul II speak to thousands in Nairobi in 1985, and 19 years later I watched that same pope take my father’s hand, look in his eyes, and say, “God Bless America.”

God has blessed America, but our freedom only survives if we protect it, if we honor our oath, taken before God in this chamber, to support and defend the Constitution, if we recognize threats to freedom when they arise.

Today we face a threat America has never seen before. A former president, who provoked a violent attack on this Capitol in an effort to steal the election, has resumed his aggressive effort to convince Americans that the election was stolen from him. He risks inciting further violence.

Millions of Americans have been misled by the former President. They have heard only his words, but not the truth, as he continues to undermine our democratic process, sowing seeds of doubt about whether democracy really works at all.

I am a conservative Republican and the most conservative of conservative principles is reverence for the rule of law. The Electoral College has voted. More than sixty state and federal courts, including multiple judges he appointed, have rejected the former president’s claims. The Department of Justice in his administration investigated the former president’s claims of widespread fraud and found no evidence to support them. The election is over. That is the rule of law. That is our constitutional process.

Those who refuse to accept the rulings of our courts are at war with the Constitution.

Our duty is clear. Every one of us who has sworn the oath must act to prevent the unraveling of our democracy. This is not about policy. This is not about partisanship. This is about our duty as Americans. Remaining silent, and ignoring the lie, emboldens the liar.

I will not participate in that. I will not sit back and watch in silence while others lead our party down a path that abandons the rule of law and joins the former president’s crusade to undermine our democracy.

As the party of Reagan, Republicans championed democracy, won the Cold War, and defeated the Soviet Communists. As we speak, America is on the cusp of another Cold War – this time with communist China. Attacks against our democratic process and the rule of law empower our adversaries and feed Communist propaganda that American democracy is a failure. We must speak the truth. Our election was not stolen, and America has not failed.

I received a message last week from a Gold Star father who said, “Standing up for the truth honors all who gave all.” We must all strive to be worthy of the sacrifice of those who have died for our freedom. They are the patriots Katherine Lee Bates described in the words of America the Beautiful: “Oh beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife, who more than self their country loved and mercy more than life.”

Ultimately, this is at the heart of what our oath requires – that we love our country more. That we love her so much we will stand above politics to defend her. That we will do everything in our power to protect our constitution and our freedom – paid for by the blood of so many.

We must love her so much we will never yield in her defense.

                That is our duty.”

                  • On Israel and the The Ayatollah's Cock Holster, this article is definitely written from a point-of-view, heh, but it's very good in understanding the PDJT/Israel approach. I'll note that PDJT viewed ME policy as supporting Israel AND containing Iran. I think his administration viewed Iran as the ultimate and obvious threat to ME stability and opted to align countries with similar fears. That, IMO, makes all the sense in the world. It is a version of TPP wrt China -- altough, with parties that are much harder to get in the same room.

Obama and now the Ayatollah's Cock Holster are pretty much of the mind to give Iran the ME.

It's a long read, but it's really interesting and at least worth thinking about.

                      • I think Israel needs to re-occupy Gaza and throw out Hamas, then demand that Egypt re-assume control over Gaza as part of any settlement, and also demand that Hamas have no part in administrating the area. After all, that's who owned Gaza before the 1967 war. It sure wasn't 'palestine'.

Then Israel needs to tell the remaining Hamas, Hezbollah and Fatah terrorists that they will re-occupy any/all so-called palestinian areas that have been turned over in the past, as long as terror attacks emanate from them. When terror attacks stop, they'll talk 'peace'. You can't negotiate peace as long as you still demand the destruction of your enemy.

Palestinians: "we want peace and our own state but we want you dead" And John Kerry/Obama/Biden support that crap.

You know, the guy who led the party from unified control of the federal government to a cult of personality that controls pretty much nothing.

                              • Liney, look at reality, not the right wing propaganda. I support our friend Israel as our best ally in the ME but not blindly.

It is the Middle East states that have brought about the conditions the Palestinians suffer from, not Israel. Israel gleefullly and sadistically supports these moves as it aligns with Israeli objectives.

Look at the refugee camps, particularly outside of the West Bank. Palestinians are not allowed outside the confines the camp (no travel). This eliminates the non-camp opportunity for employment, medical care, education. They are not allowed to apply for citizenship in the host countries (don't dilute the Palestinian nation). Phone service blocks internet access. Their only source of news is the militants' version of Fox News - biased, lie filled, hate oriented, mindless propaganda. Three generations and counting subjected to this. So why do Jordan, Lebanon, etc do this? It's because their own regimes are repressive. When their people start to get restless, their gov'ts all point to the Palestinians and say 'they're worse off than you. Suck it up, be thankful of what you DO have (not much) and we will all be lifted when our Palestinians brothers get lifted'. Oppressed Palestinians are a godsend to the other ME states and will be used as such.

It wasn't that long ago when our own Heaven's Gate Party was singing that democracy was the answer. Fully supported free and fair elections in Lebanon as democracy cures all. Well, the people elected Hamas. Why? Because Hamas is a social organization that provides food, education, and health care. It's military wing accounts for only 15% of Hamas expenditures, a fact that is intentionally not reported in the West. It doesn't support the narrative pushed by Israel.

Now, lets look at Israel. A state with every right to exist. A country that reacts forcefully to threats. Why is that? Because the Nazis quite clearly stated what they intended to do with the Jews. In WWII, the Jews learned the very hard way to believe what their enemies said. So when terrorists say "we're going to wipe you off the face of the earth", Israel believes that they will try and takes action. Can't fault them for that, but you can fault them for Nazi tactics like collective punishment.

Yes, terrorists hide behind schools and hospitals and lob mortars and rockets at Israel. But those are just launching points. Israel levels entire square blocks of the area, long after the terrorists have left. More than likely, the terrorists don't even live in that area, knowing the level of retaliation to expect. The Israelis see no alternative, exactly like the Nazis' occupation policy of shooting 20 random citizens for every German soldier killed. The standard excuse is do something, anything, can't be seen as 'weak'. (Rhetorical question) do you support that sort of thing?

How many Palestinians, percentage, do you think are terrorists? Include babies, children, elderly. Do you think the Israeli withholding tax revenues that pay for day to day affairs, the restriction of fishing in coastal waters, restricted employment of a select few, and countless other heel-of-the-boot actions are effective? Since they're not, (conflict continues) what's the point as it obviously only harms the non-combatants?

Israel is a strong ally of the US, as is Saudi Arabia and Egypt. They deserve the right to exist and have the right to defend themselves. Do they deserve carte blanche to murder as they see fit? You think all Palestinians should be subjected to this for the actions of some? I've known you for what, decades now, and I know you do not believe ill willed violent behavior justifies other ill willed violent behavior.

Your statement of - Palestinians: "we want peace and our own state but we want you dead" is just as accurate as Israelis: "we want peace and our own state but we want you Palestinians dead".
