Meanwhile, "activists" have taken over "George Floyd Square" and have turned it into some sort of autonomous zone like we saw in Seattle over the summer. They have released a list of 24 demands that must be met before they let cars drive down the street again. Oh, and there is a price tag: $50,500,000. Can someone explain how this couldn't be construed as a form of terrorism? Or at least ransom?
They demanded justice for George Floyd. Derek Chauvin was arrested, charged, tried, and convicted. THAT IS JUSTICE. That's how it works. Go home now.
On a positive note, I'm starting to see more reasonable people writing about how stupid and poorly informed of the facts BLM members and the dolts that support them and, by doing so, become megaphones for their false messaging. I'm trying to stick with that and ignore the MSM. Speaking of which .......
I'm confused, not really but you'll get the point of this post. What's going on in India and Brazil looks like scary shit. I don't want to minimize the suffering in either of those shit-holes. You've got a government in Brazil that has blown of SARS with predictable results and one in India that encourages millions to gather on the Ganges, or wherever, last month to celebrate some religious bull shit ..... again with predictable results. In Brazil, nobody gave a shit and considered the virus a minor inconvenience. In India, when Modi imposed restrictions in the big cities, millions left carrying COVID with them to more remote villages in India. Reportedly, it was the biggest migration of India's populace since 1947. ...... with, in the case of COVID, predictable result.
There are some looking to these two places with rapidly spreading SARS 2 and trying to make comparisons such that, we should be forewarned by the examples of these two places. We could be next. THERE IS NO COMPARISON, AT ALL. I'll save you at least 3500 words to explain why. It's not rocket science.
So here in the US, being guided by the world's foremost infectious disease center, the CDC, we are just stating to read, (1) why we don't need to clean surfaces and (2) why we probably don't need masks out door. Jebuss.
We are, along with several other countries, doing well with vaccine roll-outs. You have to be stupid to not see the obvious benefits and, fuck no, we don't need to wait for more data to demonstrate, well, no shit, the vaccines are effective. So, to be completely honest, that's where we are. The more people that get vaccinated, the quicker we'll return to normalcy ...... not because the facts will dictate we're out of the woods but because governments and those who remain fearful and locked in their homes will start perceiving that their own reality allows normal mobility and social contact.
And let me be clear. My view is that SARS2 isn't going away. We're probably, or should, stop seeing it as the boogey man it's made out to be and figure out how to carry on with it. None of us can do anything about the shit sandwich Brazil and India are in. We can however, stay informed about the facts, dig for them because it takes that to set aside the often confusing and contradictory guidance from the CDC and elsewhere, augmented by the press, and from some state and county level PH agencies that, following in the CDC's footsteps, are too cautious about resuming sensible outdoor activities without restrictions and indoor activities with minimum restrictions. I'm in favor of private entities making their own choice about requiring vaccines to enter/receive service. I'm opposed to governments dictating for or against vaccines including being against the Desantis EO baring a requirement for them to receive services from businesses operating in FL.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
BTW, J&J shots back on line. There may be some restrictions to who can get them. That hasn't been announced and even though the panel advising the FDA announced they're ok to restart, I don't think administering them has been green-lighted yet. Hopefully they'll sort that out this weekend.
Also, the latest boogey man (a good one to have) ........ vaccination demand is dropping.

Around here anyone can stop by a Walgreens and get a shot no sign up or reservation. Demand is so low that recent shipments are being sent elsewhere. No lines anywhere.
I made a change on my bucket list. I wanted to include a road trip to Minneapolis to see a M vs Goofer football game, but I guess I'll scratch that one now. I don't think I'm going to be welcome in MSP for some time to come.
Same in FL. There's a plan here in FL to take the vaccines to the homebound - adults and teens 16 and up - who want it. I've read about it but aren't getting any data to gauge demand. I really think that there's a certain group of people who just don't know it's available. Hard to believe but I'm always shocked by how uninformed people are. Certainly, there's vaccine hesitancy and I get that.

Nike paid Jordon even more to keep his mouth shut because "Republicans buy shoes too." Besides why do you give a damn what James says or does since you and your right wing buddies have vowed to never watch a second of an NBA game again in your lifetime.

As far as I know, I'm the only one here that is out on that 'not watching anymore' limb. And I don't care. Its really not that hard for me because in my view the NBA has been increasingly unwatchable anyway, so taking the final step is no big deal.
The point of the picture above is to further illustrate the rampant bigotry and hypocrisy of James, and to show how foolish it is to continue supporting him by watching his league.
If Tom Brady threatened the life of a black police officer, we'd be having a different conversation, I'm sure.
You boob, its Nike not James who is exploiting these workers. I haven't worn a single piece of Nike garb for over twenty years because of their exploitation of women, a situation that you obviously know nothing about. Its time for you to take your racist misogynous football and go home. Say hi to Hanniibal, Geezer, and Kapture on your way.
