Not to belabor the point, Hanni, but you and I surely agree that we have way too much government in our lives right now. Wait until systemic racism is declared a health emergency and everything is done by executive order. We didn't think reparations were coming, but they are here in this "Covid" bill. Black farmers receive benefits from the government based only on skin color. Whites need not apply.

Finally, notice how the woke supremacists on this board deal with elementary students chanting to an Aztec god. Or how they deal with specific exhortations to kill white Christians. No argument at all. Just deflection. Conservatives want to talk about issues. The only issue the woke care about is hatred of conservatives.

That's all predicated on assuming that things trend to the absolute without any sort of control. In reality, there are plenty of checkpoints before you reach that "Rubicon", where enough people recognize the sheer stupidity of an idea and it just STOPS. This is usually when the personal cost, and lack of benefit, is clarified. That's why gun control measures don't really work. and batshit (not to mention shamelessly patronizing) ideas like reparations and student loan forgiveness will get laughed off the stage when it is revealed how it will get paid for.

Likewise, the musings and rants of some crackpot in California about correcting their view of history only has value as a warning- to just stay away from them, AND those that buy into that nonsense. Trust us- we will.

Actually it's a full-court press from NY House Democrats. Nadler, AOC, at least 8-9 others all release coordinated statements saying Cuomo must go. Wow. If he wants to say F U to New York he'll make them go through the impeachment process out of spite but it feels like he would lose that vote at this point.

The new monetary theory posits that they do not need to be paid for. It negates the whole idea that spending on anything requires "paying for" the spending. It says only that we spend and spend and then when inflation or hyper-inflation is a threat, we tax the crap out of people in order to lower the money supply. Progs have always wanted to separate spending from "who is paying for this?". That is why all the spending bills recently have been omnibus.

I don't want to pay for some nitwit's college debt he used to get his degree in black studies. He should pay as he promised to pay. Better yet, the college that granted the worthless degree should be forced to "co-sign" the debt and to pay for failing to deliver value. Can you imagine the difference in counseling a degree path when the college has some potential liability for granting a worthless degree?
