A man walks into a bar, already very tipsy, and yells "A round for me, a round for everyone here, and a round for you!" and points at the bartender. The bartender serves everyone then gives the man the bill. He says, "Oh I don't have any money". The bartender kicks his ass and throws the bum out.
The next night the same man stumbles in, still drunk, and says the same thing, "A round for me, a round for everyone here, and a round for you!". The bartender thinks, ok maybe he's come to pay up this time. He serves everyone, then asks for the money, and the man again says "Oh i don't have any money". He beats him up again and tosses him out.
To the bartender's disbelief, the man returns a third night and says "A round for me, and a round for everyone here!". The bartender doesn't move and asks "What, no round for ME tonight?"
"No" the man says "You're too violent when you drink".
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
The US administered 1.2M doeses yesterday. Up to 9+M by January 12. If we tracked vaccine shots the way we tracked covid cases we'd call this a surge. As it is, I'm sure the focus remains on other things.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
FL continues to ramp up infrastructure. In the last two weeks, the state has directed the opening of 6 new vaccination sites and the conversion of three testing sites to vaccination sites in the tri-county, S FL region. I live in Broward County. Broward Health is one of the big hospital systems serving residents. They launched a web page this morning, I logged in and easily submitted my request for myself and my wife. After signing up I got a "Thank you ..... we'll be in touch" message. We'll see how quickly we get a response and what the dates will be that we can get our shots.
I have a friend who resides in Volusa Co. (Orlando). Last week, he casually signed up for the shots. His wife is a nurse and has already received her shots - both of them. after signing up, he got an immediate date and time for his first shot, went to the vaccination facility he was directed to go to and checked in. No line, no craziness, he walked in at his appointment time, got the shot, waited the standard 15 minutes to assure no adverse reaction and left. The whole process took 25 minutes. He is already scheduled, date and time, for his second shot.
I'm also eligible to receive a shot through the VA. On their web site they have a link where you can get information on the priority for vaccine administration - it's pretty much standard although It appears they are doing some prioritization for "seniors" within "seniors" by looking at which vets 65 and older have complicating conditions. Supposedly, I will be notified by my PCP when I can get the shot. Nothing yet and compared to most vets I run inot when I'm visiting the VA, I'm way healthy and in no hurry.
My son works at the VA in Ann Arbor. He's a dentist. He got his first shot some time right after Christmas and his second is coming up so the VA is working though front line providers and will ultimately get to seniors in good time.
