Jesus. There is going to be a tin foil shortage in this country.
Nobody really uses Tin anymore. It's pretty much all Aluminum. Just another thing the MSM doesn't want you to know.

Exactly. Aluminum gives 2-way coverage and is much more durable than tin.

      • Speculation abounds about whom Biden is going to nominate for his future Cabinet posts. Biden said his Cabinet “will look like the country,”

Oh really? A minimum of 48% conservative voters?

He's lying as usual, of course, but I'm sure he meant well.

        • "It will look like this country" means that some of the white Left Wing lawyers will be replaced by Black or Hispcanic Left Wing lawyers.

The Western Front had the added misery of it being a complete and utter waste of time. I don't know of any other war that has suffered from that kind of protracted stalemate for so long with so much loss of life.

                • Oh, it had numerous little bonuses that came from technology vastly surpassing conventional warring wisdom. But, yes, ultimately it proved so disheartening and soul-sapping that the Allies simply lacked the will to fully put the Germans down, and that made it a complete and utter waste of time. Fortunately, the same mistake was not made in WW2.

                    • The thing with the Western Front is it wasn't limited to a side. It was just plain awful. I'm sure Petersburg was pretty bad if you were part of the Treasonists, but I doubt it was all that bad for Grant's Americans.

                      • And on the other end of Turkey, the Ottomans tried to invade Russia across the Caucasus Mountains right before Christmas 1914.

Yeah, that didn't go so well. Effectively wiped out an army of 125,000 men. 20% froze to death before even seeing a Russian. Turkish leadership needed a scapegoat and pointed the finger at the Armenians.

                          • The whole Eastern Front of WWII seems rather brutal. Both sides were pretty barbaric to each other AND themselves. I have a German colleague whose father was captured by the Russians and didn't get released until the early 1950s. How he was able to survive and pass that time is best left unsaid.

                            • The Eastern Front is top 5. Those motherfuckers gave no quarter. And, hell, with the Soviets facing the Nazis in front of them and their own firing squads behind them...yeah, man. You gonna survive Barbarossa and then 1942 and 1943? Godspeed.

                              • WWI simply takes the cake for needless loss of life. It's the military equivalent of running up the middle into a ten man box for four consecutive years only this time a thousand people die every time that you get tackled at the line of scrimmage. There were, no doubt, many moments of misery for the soldiers of WWII, but they were at least spared the curse of not being ordered around by the military equivalent of MIke Debord.
