They are in trouble in the short term Federally. Bigger trouble than they should be. The Senate was bound to be hard to defend for them this cycle, but the House should never have been in play. It might be in play with this nonsense. It isn't just about Trump these candidates are very weak.

Trump is going to win Michigan. Kasich only goal at this point in the game is to win Ohio and takeaway votes for Trump (hopefully a VP spot) and lead closer to a brokered convention, which the GOP voters the conservatives out there are not going to be happy about. I think he could probably do better running as a Democrat
While Cruz keeps up the pressure on Trump, how many primarys has he won? His home state of Texas, I believe that's it (?) Looking forward - barring a major shift, Trump should win big with the landscape voting turning more toward winner take all.
Beginning March 15, most Republican state parties hold winner-take-all contests, which can help a frontrunner run away with the nomination by binding all of their delegates to the winner. Cruz has done well in the caucuses, but not in the primarys besides placing 2nd.

Rubio will be still in full on kamikaze mode doing enough to get Trump's goat and elicit the same crap.

And then that debate. Jesus Christ. The moderators lost control of it and it was clearly a hit job on Trump designed to promote the thoroughly unelectable Cruz. Now the Republicans have ensured that nobody on the stage can be Trump's veep candidate, and they have so conspicuously come out against him that it's going to be virtually impossible to walk it back later. Trump obviously does bear some responsibility for it, and he handled it very poorly. But there aren't many candidates who could survive that kind of nonstop barrage. Everyone in this race has their warts. Cruz is going to get massacred in the general. So not only are the Republicans torpedoing their best chance at a real future, but they have picked a certain loser in doing it.Last edited by Hannibal; March 7, 2016, 08:47 PM.

He appears to be getting more support from minorities so far than any Republican in at least 30 years, despite the fact that he doesn't observe political correctness or whimper and speak in mealy-mouthed language saying "please don't call me a racist!" He handles the media better than any Republican since Reagan, even if you take into account his fuckups. But instead of embracing him or at least letting the party decide who to pick, Mitt Romney goes on national TV and regurgitates an unfunny version of John Oliver's anti-Trump rant. How fucking stupid is that? Instead of engaging in some introspection, Romney doubled down on the "Trump is a racist" and "Trump is a con man" rhetoric. One of the party's most prominent members attacking the front runner with MSNBC talking points. That's a formula for suicide. Trump is on the cusp of sparking a counter-PC revolution that could help the Republican Party prosper within the country's changing demographics, without compromising everything that they stand for. And they are trying to squash it.

Of course you can run with the same "the polls are wrong. Trump's a winner" script that Romney supporters kept clinging to in the waning days of the 2012 election. Plenty could change but there's precious little evidence that Trump's a stronger candidate than the other two clowns.

Wings - I'm actually feeling pretty well. I went back to work today. My general well-being is good.
I'm less than 24 hours from voting, and I'm still flipping a coin. 2 months ago, I'd have voted for Carly Fiorina. Now, I'm trying to figure out which Repub stinks least. I may end up not voting at all.
I can't vote for Bernie, because I'm not a socialist.
I can't vote for Hillary, just because ..."in order to lead America you must love America"

Really great to hear that you feeling good Liney! Didn't want to harp on it (in your position) before, my sister has been telling me multiple times now to get that procedure. I guess one of her friends husband has some serious problems, so yeah your message hit home even though there is no history of this in my family. Really comforting is the posts how far they have come along in treating this, I'm sure you will have a speedy recovery.

The colonoscopy procedure is no big deal. In fact, I've had worse experiences in a dentists' office.
My doctor looked at my 36 year old son and told him, "With your Dad's diagnosis, you need to plan on having a colonoscopy in about 4 years from now". The worst part of the procedure was the night before. The "cleansing" was not fun... :-)"in order to lead America you must love America"
