Thanks for the well wishes guys. I can only blame myself, for so foolishly putting of a routine procedure that could have found this before it became a problem.
I feel pretty good, I am in no pain or discomfort. I feel fairly positive about what lies ahead. I'll know more about what the next steps are in the next couple of weeks.
Prime - yes I did have a gallbladder operation back in 2008. This surgery will be in almost the same area, only a bit more to the side.
I'm getting lots of positive vibes from my friends and family. I've heard that treatment for this has gotten better in just the past couple years. So, I'm trying to stay positive as well.
Sorry to be a downer, .. go ahead and return to the political discussion.
And by the way, thanks to all who are participating in the discussion. You've kept it civil, and nobody has had to moderate anything to my knowledge. Politics can be a very polarizing subject nowadays, but you guys are handling it very well. Thanks again for showing it actually can be done.
Speaking of politics, the Republican race just got a lot more interesting. Up until yesterday, it looked like Trump was going to run away with it but now it is obvious that the GOP is solidifying behind Cruz for a brokered convention, most likely with a Cruz-Rubio or a Cruz-Kasich ticket. Trump will still get the most delegates but now it is up in the air whether he will get 1237.
Nancy Reagan, the widow of President Ronald Reagan and passionately devoted keeper of his flame, died Sunday morning of congestive heart failure at 94, according to her spokesperson.
1. Cruz has won more "closed" primaries/caucuses than Trump. Something like 6-3. Michigan's is a closed primary.
2. Trump is "funding his own campaign" by loaning money to his campaign committee. He has already announced that he will be taking donations in the General Election, to be used to pay himself back. Certainly sounds like a politician to me.
Republicans solidifying behind Cruz! They are more fucked by doing that than staying behind Trump. Trump may be a buffoon but Cruz is downright evil. It surely sucks to be a Republican in today's political climate.
Wishing you all the best Liney. You have been an example of integrity and fairness all these many years. You are the glue of this forum which has survived for 20 years thanks to your leadership.
Nowadays most colon surgery is done with robotic tools and is much less invasive. I predict you will have a fast recovery. FWIW, I spent my career doing colon surgery (the old-fashioned way) and believe me, there have been many long term survivors of colon cancer. We all wish you the best.

Some Republicans mistakenly think that Cruz is more likely to beat Hillary because that's what current polls show. What they are forgetting (again) is that the polls don't reflect any of Cruz's negatives yet because most people don't know who he is. He has gotten kid glove treatment from Fox News so far and the mainstream media hasn't talked much about him. He'll get assraped in the general election like a John Beilien undersized center in the paint. And if by some miracle he does beat Hillary, he'll just be the third term of George W. and he'll spend what little political capital he has on a couple of gay marriage or abortion bills.
