  • President Donald Trump told US governors on Thursday his administration was preparing to issue new, potentially more relaxed social distancing guidelines based on geographic risk factors for the novel coronavirus, even as some health experts warn it’s too early to allow Americans to congregate in large groups or return to their workplaces.

President Deals eager to relax social distancing

    snipped from the article:

Trump has insisted that as conditions improve in certain areas of the country, or don't devolve into large outbreaks, that business should be able to return to normal.
But he's also said that widespread testing isn't necessary in those areas because they don't have large caseloads.

Pelosi said a couple hours ago that they WILL hold a regular vote on this tomorrow if there's enough people in town for a quorom (they think there might be but were verifying). But that would only be necessary if Massie pulls shenanigans and foils both the unanimous consent (likely) and the voice vote (who knows).

Trump mention in his presser that the bill could get delayed because of a "grandstander". Warning shot to Massie -- not too late for me to endorse your primary opponent, bub

      • Yes. The Dems can't be stupid enough to hold this up, can they?

Now, a Tea Bagger on the other hand...

There is a LOT of corporate socialism in that bill. If it had been separated from the Small Business Loans along with direct payment to American Citizens I don't think this corporate welfare (looking at you Boeing) would be have been this big or this few restrictions on it.

            • GOOD NEWS: **Early tests suggest that there is a partial or limited acquired immunity with most after infection of COVID-19. This saves us as a species, most likely will keep society in some semblance of order, and make a vaccine and/or treatment MUCH easier.

Go hug your loved ones. Looks like humanity will make it through (until the Yellowstone Caldera erupts, that is).

**Cite will come later. This comes from a convo with a chief researcher friend of mine.

                • Seeing a fair amount of anger directed Massie's way tonight from other members of Congress. Basically saying the bill will overwhelmingly pass if all members show up, why waste a lot of (additional) taxpayer money to get everyone back in DC just to pull a stunt and claim you made a "brave stand" on principle? Plus Trump himself will be pissed at you.

                  But Teabaggers gonna teabag

                      • Why are these guys leaving before it gets pushed through? They shouldn't even been going on recess at all. $2 trillion is a good start but this is going to cost more.

                              • Trump says tonight on Hannity that when Cuomo says New York needs 30,000 ventilators, he doesn't believe him. Says he has a hunch otherwise.

Also said there's no risk to using drugs for off-label purposes when they're already "out there" (presumably referring to the anti-malarial drugs he's been touting recently)

His previous hunch was that we'd never have more than 15 cases in America.
