Lot of stuff going on today....federal court grants Amazon an injunction. Pentagon ordered to temporarily halt all work on the JEDI contract it awarded to Microsoft.
Dunno how far this will end up going but Amazon has said it wants depositions from Esper, Jim Mattis, and Trump -- among others

In many instances, the government would probably work quietly behind the scenes to effectuate certain policy decisions. Sentencing, e.g., would be one of those areas. Even viewing it in the most cynical light and saying Barr & Trump coordinated the statement, and Trump went along with this plan, over time he's likely to get annoyed hearing pundits talk about how Barr dressed him down in public...no one tells him what to do!
