Strange, I got this from my news feeds. It speaks to the point you brought up about Rs shifting political positions. Conservationism - Ronald Reagan's version of it - has remained a mainstay of the Republican party. There have been departures as you pointed out but fundamentally Reganism properly defines the Republican party I would be a prat of if it hadn't co-opted by the idiots who formed the Tea Party.

And of course Roberts had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to this position. He was originally inclined to argue not state courts nor even independent commissions have any business drawing districts. Only highly partisan state legislatures possess the wisdom to do that.
But I welcome his conversion to the side of righteousness. As do all honest and decent folk.Comment

So there's this Twitter account called President Supervillain that's been taking Trump quotes and photoshopping them into Captain America comics as dialogue for the Red Skull. Been around for a while but it's been getting a lot more attention recently. Some of them are really great. Hilarious how well Trump's words work in these contexts

* Emails released showing Doral was never being considered as a G7 site until very late in the process and contrary to what Trump claimed, the Secret Service had a lot of concerns about the place
* Multiple witnesses now confirm they heard Trump speaking with Sondland about getting Ukraine to do investigations. And Sondland said Trump "didn't give a shit about Ukraine" beyond getting the Bidens investgated
