Upon what do you base that prediction?

She represents her constituency perfectly. All that she has to do is keep trashing the country while playing the "as a proud Muslim woman of color I..." game and she has a job for life. Ditto for AOC and the other young-ish Congresswomen who rode Socialism and identity politics to a seat in the House. Today it's four but those districts aren't that special. Within a decade, it will probably be fifty.

On some afternoon news of some importance:

Iran's Foreign Minister said today in NY that Iran was prepared to accelerate imposition of additional restrictions on Iran's nuclear program due to take effect in 2023 and agreed to in the JCPOA in 2016. Basically, this offer allows increased inspections and access among other things that the report covering the announcement did't list. Iran would move forward with this offer if the US suspends it's sanctions. Not going to happen but it's an indicator that Iran can make substantive offers that amount to overtures to the US to bargain in exchange for sanction relief.

Iran seized a tanker in the Gulf today. It's reported that the seizure was a routine police operation involving the prevention of smuggling operations of Iranian oil. The Iranian FM mentioned this in conjunction with his announcement of an offer to the US.

The third impeachment resolution attempt to be submitted by the same US house representative from Texas failed to move forward in the House but it did get more votes to do so than the last two. The submission was made on the heels of Trump's comments this weekend regarding the squad in hopes that more members of congress would rally to dump Trump. I'm still in Pelosi's camp on this ..... forwarding articles of impeachment out of the House to the Senate would produce outcomes more harmful than beneficial.

When the stench becomes unbearable, Trump tries to change the news cycle. Today, Dear Leader announces the shoot down of an Iranian drone. If it happened at all, I'd wager the Navy took it out before it got within a couple of miles of the ship. There's no way any captain is going to let a potentially air to surface missile armed drone get to 1000 yards before engaging. Nice story, try again.

Which is why Pelosi's been fighting the impeachment crowd. And possibly why they have started to really slow down the investigation side too -- she is nervous they'll actually uncover something bad.
