Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

  • Al Kaline had what is called a "slip of the tongue" on a Detroit radio show when he was 71 years old. He was asked if he knew a certain player (who reveled he is gay) and played in MLB in the 60s. Kaline said yea everybody knew his was a 'FAG' - But we didn't care he was a really nice guy. Right! What a homophobic ass!!

    Down it goes!

        People change. Parties change. Whatever.

        • The War on Snowflakes is an absolute travesty. Weak kneed hand wringing, faux outrage and crocodile tears are a Constitutionally protected way of life. How dare anyone, ANYONE, criticize those who swoon when their oh-so-delicate sensitivities are ruthlessly upset? The moral outrage of widespread failing to be offended shakes America to the core. I'm so upset that I'll...I'll...tweet!!!!

                • Someone actually did a count and he's tweeted or retweeted items over 50 times in the past 24 hours. Deals getting DONE!!

Speaking of Twitter, President Deals says Twitter needs to stop 'playing games' with follower counts (he's knows he really has way more followers than Twitter says) and Congress needs to get involved and look into this.

                        • Dr. Strangelove's brilliant sardonic railing against those who think maybe, perhaps, PC stuff is a little over the edge is particularly timely. The National Review is complaining about NYU students shouting down German Kate Smith -- Henry Kissinger. They yelled the standard stuff that sets Dr. Strangelove aflutter like "War Criminal!" and "Nazi!". The latter, of course, is revealing of the folks on that side as Kissinger fought in WWII against, you know, the Nazis.

As Kissinger has said, a society needs great objectives to which it can apply itself with conviction, instead of being obsessed with its own shortcomings. Dr. Strangelove derisively snorts in the old man's direction.

                            • When Grover Cleveland finally did get married (the only President to marry at the White House) he married a woman less than half his age (he was 49) whom he had helped raise since she was a little girl.

Frances Cleveland didn't die until after WWII to give you some perspective on their age difference.

It may shock you to discover that I find Henry Kissinger a lot more objectionable than Kate Smith singing minstrel songs in 1931. Yelling "Nazi" at him is stupid but "war criminal"...? Not inaccurate
