I have no idea as to the merits of what Nickalus proposed, it could be a very worthy cause, but if this happened in any other administration, especially a Democratic one, would Republicans just sit and smile and keep their lips closed?
Trump directs that $20M be set aside for a golfing buddy's pet project in his proposed budget.
There's also zero chance this is the first instance Trump has been talked into spending taxpayer money (or tried to spend money at least) on things his golf club members recommended. And there's zero record of any of it because his clubs refuse to keep track of who's coming and going any time he's there.
Again, Drain the Swamp remains one of the emptiest and most cynical slogans ever created by a political campaign. It was never intended to mean end the power of lobbyists or end the power of backroom secret deals or the DC revolving door. Look at how many former Trump officials have ended up at lobbying firms. Trump's '5-year-ban" is largely meaningless. Heck, as just one example, ex-Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke hopped right into a cushy lobbyist job.
