  • Senate Republicans are going to end up gaining two seats in the most favorable map in a generation. And will lose around 35 House seats, possibly pushing 40. So yeah a tremendous success for Trump, everyone is saying the greatest ever

because of the stunning lack of transparency, you know, where they were supposed to report the number of ballots 30 min after the polls closed and update every 45 min... and didn't do either of those two things.... breaking the law in the process

and yes, when you go to court and argue that rejected ballots and votes by illegals should be counted you are attempting to commit voter fraud.

we're gonna play like the dems and investigate it until the crimes are found lol

          • Republican Nazis (redundant term) rejoice over Trump and the midterms. No glossing over that scum is in fact uniting behind the GOP. (In Illinois, Arthur Jones, a self-declared Holocaust denier and former leader of the American Nazi Party tallied almost 56,000 votes, more than a quarter of the total, standing for the GOP in Illinois' 3rd Congressional District.)

The publisher of a neo-Nazi website said white nationalism was a winner in the midterm elections, while others cheered President Trump as their champion.

            • If it's redundant why didn't you just say Republicans? Or Nazis? Do you typically try to write in redundancies?

Blame Arizonans. Maybe they felt Sinema's actual record in Congress over the past 6 years was more important than her student radical days.

There's not a single Hillary Clinton state (other than maybe New Hampshire) that's in danger of turning red in 2020. Trump has a bunch of states he's now in danger of losing.

I assume if this map was so favorable then the Ds should put a whupping on them in 2020 and 2022.

Well, she lost SOOOOOO many states. The fact that she lost BLUE states is a true tribute to the sheer incompetence of her campaign.

                    • WP reporting Trump wants Nielsen gone ASAP. Could be the final straw for Kelly too, don't know.

Depends on who the dems pic. Michigan and Wisconsin are not red states, but they are not Hillary states either.

I hear that Hillary 4.0 is gonna make a run at 2020, and has what? 70% support in the democrat party? Are you ready for round 2?

                        • The Democratic party faces an uphill climb in the Senate even with more favorable maps in 2020 and 2022. It doesn't mean it won't happen but they need a couple of unforced errors by the GOP.

Correct, Froot. You might as well call it 54-46 for 2020 because ain't no fucking way Alabama is sending Doug Jones back. I assume the Ds will win Colorado and they should be 50/50 to win in Arizona if they pick a good candidate. But, beyond that...not good.

The Senate is always going to be tough, but this was the year the D's improbable wins in 2006 and then 2012 finally reverted to the mean.

I think one could also say the House was an "extremely unfavorable" map for the Rs. At least in the sense that they were pretty much capped out at 240 and holding a ton of swing seats whereas the Ds had almost no swing seats. I feel fairly safe in saying that no matter what happens in 2020 -- no matter how favorable it is for the Ds -- they're not adding many more House seats.

Once you get up to that 240 range you need a really good election just to hold steady (the Rs, e.g., lost seats even though they won the overall vote in 2016). If you're getting beat by 7 points then you're going to get asshammered. Even moreseo if you were sitting at 257.

                            • Only silver lining is the Dems thinking they can run radical candidates in a nationwide because of the Sinema anomaly. Truth is the Dems won a lot of purple areas running moderates. Sinema might be the only example, perhaps you can look at Robert O'Rourke too and how close he came, but he was close for different reasons. And with that 2020 Dem debate stage packed with a race to the far radical left, they may yet again shoot themselves in the foot by becoming unpalatable to the general voting public.

Yeah, when you outspend someone roughly 70M to 40M and lose. The Ds had the money advantage in most races, including Arizona (a mere 33 to 27). And fairly so. Folks and groups were motivated and want to express their motivation with donations.

However, it's that huge money advantage comes and goes.
