The House Intelligence Committee meets at 5 p.m. Monday in the Capitol. The meeting will give the committee its first opportunity to vote on the question of releasing the so-called "FISA abuse" memo that has captured Washington's attention in recent days. Since the GOP holds a 13 to 9 advantage on the committee, the overwhelming likelihood is that if there is a vote, the panel will decide, along party lines, to release the memo.
At that point, House rules call for the committee to await a decision by the president on whether he supports or opposes release of the memo. President Trump has made clear he supports release, so the memo could be made public quickly.
gee think andy knows what coming and decided to pull a mark hollis
“McCabe told Priebus a big NYT story alleging treasonous collusion was false. Priebus asked if he could make that public. McCabe then leaked that Priebus was interfering with the FBI, tweeted Davis Monday
so you have the top brass of the FBI telling priebus the collusion scandal was all bullshit which he asked if they'd make that public and they set him up to CNN making it sound like obstruction. what a joke
WASHINGTON — The day after he fired James Comey as director of the FBI, a furious President Donald Trump called the bureau's acting director, Andrew McCabe, demanding to know why Comey had been allowed to fly on an FBI plane from Los Angeles back to Washington after he was dismissed, according to multiple people familiar with the phone call.
McCabe told the president he hadn’t been asked to authorize Comey’s flight, but if anyone had asked, he would have approved it, three people familiar with the call recounted to NBC News.
The president was silent for a moment and then turned on McCabe, suggesting he ask his wife how it feels to be a loser — an apparent reference to a failed campaign for state office in Virginia that McCabe’s wife made in 2015.
McCabe replied, “OK, sir.” Trump then hung up the phone.
From what I've read, it sounds like Wray was more concerned about what he saw in the IG's coming report rather than the Nunes memo. He told McCabe he was effectively demoting him. McCabe chose to retire a little earlier than expected.
The FBI Inspector General, btw, was supposed meet with House GOP tomorrow, but that meeting's been abruptly cancelled.
The Nunes memo will be released to the public. Nunes and the Intel Republicans have refused to allow the Dems to make their own memo public, but will allow them to show other House members.
